We loved everything about our stay! First, the location and stunning view is incredible. Our host Judy was an absolute gem. We loved chatting with her and learning about this beautiful location. The apartment had everything needed, sweet decor, amazing bed and to die for fresh breakfast in the morning (fair warning: pace yourself as it’s impossible to leave hungry!). We loved waking up to the sounds of waves lapping on the beach below, birds singing and a drop dead sunrise! We were only able to spend 1 night on this trip but will definitely return.

The hosts were incredibly busy, but took time to arrange another room for us. This is a very old hotel, with all the maintenance issues that you can expect. There is no meals service, so guests need to bring there own food and drink or get some from the very small village store. Guests can use the full size catering kitchen.

Te Puia has nothing to offer.

Te Puia has nothing to offer. The only shop in town was closed. The hotel bar was closed, dining room and lounge were closed. No food or drink on offer. The hot springs The town is known for consisted of one tepid pool behind the hotel which was filthy and not even hot. All in all very disappointing stay. The hotel rooms were clean and comfortable, no issue there. And the bathrooms were clean and functional. It's just a sham there was nothing else on offer to make it a stay rather than just a place to sleep

This was more hostel like accommodation than hotel.

This was more hostel like accommodation than hotel. Small room but clean & tidy apart from very dirty windows -a good clean & repaint required. Bathroom refurbished & great shower but once again windows the same as bedroom. Advertised pools were one pool which unfortunately was so extremely hot you could not get in ! Hotel frontage needed a clean up as did the "foyer" -a very dirty fish tank does nothing for the place

    I regret booking here.

I regret booking here. Mostly because the hygiene was terrible and it was over priced for something that dirty. We felt completely ripped off Not clean. Floors dirty, spider in room, stains on sheets. Everything dusty and dirty. Bed sheets smelt clean, but had gross stains. Bed very uncomfortable, had a terrible sleep. Common areas dusty, musky and dirty. Restaurant/bar closed so can't comment. Wifi unreliable unless you're close the the main foyer. Definitley not the price we paid. Best thing about it was checking out
