It was very poor accommodation.
It was very poor accommodation. Not clean before we got there room was very smelly n musky dirty smell. Lots missing from room. Utensils, TV remote, pots, toaster, iron. We couldn’t book anywhere else all booked out a big festival was on in the area. Emergency housing was in the Lodge they were disgustingly dirty (bogens) Dogs inside their hotel room. Their rooms were disgustingly yuk. Not a good experience I would not recommend anyone to stay there. Very poor. Bad Experience.Guest review byAriaNew Zealand - 10.0
We visited the new swing bridge just out of Stratford, takes...
We visited the new swing bridge just out of Stratford, takes about a half hour walk to get to it but well worth it. Walked to the township for a meal which was good as the weather was superb. We dined at Malones for dinner which was really nice. On the Sunday we had a great coffee and cake at a little gallery just off the main street which was a hidden gem.Guest review bySueNew Zealand - 8.0

Love the river walks and so many outdoors activities handy.

I was born in Stratford . .
I was born in Stratford . . It was quite warm with a little rain .. It's not a City so much quieter than say New Plymouth . Tho has quite a Volume of Traffic through the Main street . . Has good pedestrian crossing in the Middle of town . . Plenty of food places and shops a Farming town too . I bought a Lamb Roast dinner from Broadway fast foods . I'm biased . I was born and Bred here . Came back for Christine Convention and to visit Family who I could have stayed with only there was other Family members staying . Stratford put on Lovely weather so far . It has a Mountain so can get get changeable weather . In saying that there's not many places . Where you can climb the Mountain in the Morning and Swim in the Sea in the Afternoon Only you need to be prepared and experienced as this Mountain can be Changeable. . There is an old New Zealand aesthetic to Stratford which makes the atmosphere really enjoyable. The apartment was clean, staff were respectful, facilities were well equipped (tv, cleaning liquid, towels), close to local shops in Stratford and the Egmont National park.
