The staff were very helpful and friendly. We were treated very well. We had a room in the Lodge and loved it. The shower was great, and the kitchenette was well supplied. Lots of nice towels and our room was serviced when we wanted. There's a laundry for guests The view from our room was fantastic, overlooking a beautiful garden area as well as the soccer fields and the beach area. We were steps from 3 pubs, all a little different from each other, although we favored Smugglers because of its extensive options and a terrific lunch special. Close to everything anyone could need. Tahunanui Beach offers lots of activities for adults and children and only a short 5 to 10 minute walk away. Such a perfect location. Highly recommend staying here.

Our room was a lovely quiet & comfortable 'little cottage' overlooking a lovely lawn and bay, The continental breakfast was ideal for us. Had a fantastic stone grilled rump steak which I cooked myself at the table in the restaurant. Wish we could have stayed longer

Quiet area in easy walking distance to the town center, amenities like coffee and a big tea selection, great shower and comfortable bed along with carefully selected beautiful furniture (desk, chairs) give this place a very homey and cozy feeling. We had enough space to put all our luggage. I particularly enjoyed drinking coffee in the sunshine in the morning on the steps in front of the room. There’s also a nice seating area outside. Loved it here!

    Nelson has a lot of speciality stores and a lot of food...

    Nelson has a lot of speciality stores and a lot of food options. The Markets in the weekends are not for those looking for a bargain but do support local and NZ made and although some were costly, there was a lot of selection of goodies. Stoke the Bach Restaurant was staffed with lovely young girls, and the food was excellent and value for money The Arden Monaco where we stayed has limited room facilities and is not staffed outside of working hours, but the beds are comfortable and with very dark woodwork old paintings and very heavy doors, the facility was well equipped with heat pumps and hot water.

    Loved the friendly people, very creative and arty outlets, and artists, lovely eateries and markets, lots to do and see. We unfortunately got caught in the bad weather and were stranded for two more days - would have been great, but too wet and flooded to do anything else. Not Nelson's fault though! - We will be back to pick up where we left off!

    we sadly only arrived for an overnight stay to fly on to our home but the region is usually beautiful. sadly we were there under an emergency weather situation. we ate at Tides restaurant and it was brilliant.

    Lots to do - walking on the beach, visiting Pic's Peanut Butter Factory, Natureland Zoo, shopping, eating, the Saturday Market . . . Very impressed with the bus service and friendly bus drivers.

    Lots of great restaurants, some with water views.

    Lots of great restaurants, some with water views. Beautiful gardens (Japanese, botanic, chinese). Assessible to wineries and outdoor activities. Bike hire at airport (Nelson Cycle Hire) was excellent to enjoy some of the Great Taste Trail with amazing scenery. Pic's Peanut factory tour really good.

    A beautiful city. Lots of lovely trees The city centre was lovely even in the pouring rain. Great bus service. We obtained a Bee card and used mostly off peak so very economical. Lovely buildings, parks, museums to visit, and of course the cathedral. The Saturday market was great. Great beach and waterfront, lots of short walks in city(Paddy's Knob, Centre of NZ) Also a good base to head off to walk Abel Tasman

    Great place to stay in Nelson and not far from the main sights to see. The hotel was able to arrange a driver for me to pick me up and drop me off at the airport/hotel. I was there for a wedding so they went the extra mile and i could use the driver to pick me up and drop me off from the wedding. Great stay and great room, loved the bath !

    Very clean and well equipped. They had a coffee machine with pods and a plunged coffee pot. Coffee provided with both items. Small packet of Biscuits included!! 5 minute walk into Nelson city centre. Good meal at their sister hotel. They also had a free arrangement with a local gym. Swipe card from reception will be provided if asked.

    Clean and comfortable. Idea if you wanted the beach side of Nelson. City centre a few miles away. Hotel set right on front near beach which is superb. Not a lot around but a great bar and food place a very close Sprig & Fern recommended

    If you are a nature lover, this place is definitely for you. Enjoyed birds and cicadas singing and the beauty of New Zealand's forest. The host is very helpful and friendly, his recommendations what to see around Nelson were helpful.
