It's a very special place to have crayfish and fresh fish at the Fish Wife. It's the only reason we travel and stay at Moeraki. Absolutely loving it. The Moeraki Tavern is also another fantastic place to eat. I highly recommend both.Guest review bySofia DalyNew Zealand - 8.0
Booked Moeraki to see boulders and Yellow Eyed penguins.
Booked Moeraki to see boulders and Yellow Eyed penguins. But actually peguins were at Oamaru. May need to eat dinner in Oamaru also as Moeraki only has the cafe by the boulders which closes at 7pm. (However we had brunch at the cafe and it was good.). Take Bushy Beach road from Oamaru to Yellow Eyed Penguin viewing point approximately an hour before sundown. In December the Blue Penguins arrive in Oamaru at 9pm. The people at that nesting area were very helpful.Guest review byMarUnited States - 6.0

It’s a beautiful coastal spot to visit. Only problem is the roads which are dreadful. U need a 4 wheel drive to get around. Fishwife cafe is amazing. Beautiful fresh blue cod and crayfish. Only problem is that it’s not always open except weekends.Guest review byWendyNew Zealand - 8.0

Was able to get two units next to each other, helpful with our larger group. Good water pressure, spacious bedrooms, very comfortable beds and good view from upstairs balcony main bedroom. Would have liked to be notified road motel on, was closed with access to residents only.
