AustraliaWhat an absolute little gem of a place this is. We loved our stay! Of the beaten track, yet pretty close to Greymouth. The food was out of this world! The menu coversall bases and fantastic value for money. We ended up getting three courses each and ended up absolutely stuffed! The hotel is charming, with a lot of character and an amazing back story and history. The staff is so friendly and helpful! They even provided hot water bottles to take to bed on a cold winter's night! We will definitely be back!!

Village in a beautiful setting near native forest park and overlooking Lake Brunner. A small number of occupied original houses and lots of new modern holiday homes that would likely be busy in the Summer water-skiing season. Neat historic railway buildings. It is a wonderful spot and surprisingly didn't cost the earth. We ate in the Lodge and the food was excellent. The lodge and the owners are wonderful. Nice and quiet before Christmas, afterwards gets very busy with holiday makers, good walking tracks around the area. Great place if you have a boat, water skiing etc. Greymouth is only 25 minutes away if you need to go to a supermarket i.e. Countdown and New World.
