We loved our stay at Mountain Views. The home was clean, fresh, warm and inviting. Small extra touches like chocolates and games show how much the hosts care, especially for families with children. The location is superb, a short distance from the hot pools. Highly recommend.

It was really spacious and had everything we needed. The neighbourhood was lovely and quiet. With the snowfall and cold weather the fire was a bonus in keeping us cozy and warm and for drying our washing on the rack provided. It was very nice to arrive at 5pm on day one to find the fire set for a quick start to warming up the property. The beds were super comfy and the master ensuite shower was enormous with a rainfall shower head - wish we had one at home. All communication with the host was prompt and friendly. It was a great place to stay at.

    Opuke Thermal Pools & Spa are a must see, must do. World class! The mountains are beautiful. If you have transport, close by is Ashburton, Lake Coleridge and much more. The information centre in Methven, "I-Hub" is a wealth of information and things to do. Off the beaten track, an alive, looked after, vibrant small town NZ with genuine charm and a smile. My wife and I loved it, we will be back.

    Methven is a good place to stay if you are planning a few...

    Methven is a good place to stay if you are planning a few days skiing in the winter, be prepared for closed days. I would go for self catering as the standard of service and quality of food is much the same as what you could do at home. If you are prepared to pay top dollar there may be somewhere that is high standard, I never found it. On closed days you can walk the Fairy Trial by the racecourse, go to the hot pools try not to eat there unless you are prepared to wait 40 minutes to an hour for your food, beverages may not be up to standard. There are also other tracks in the bush not far from Methven that you can do a 30 to 3 hour walk. Catch the bus up the mountain its much less stressful than driving.

    Safe, friendly, small and cozy town, a stone's

    Safe, friendly, small and cozy town, a stone's throw from one of the best ski fields in NZ. Our hire car wasn't locked all day with all our gear in it, nothing was disturbed , it's just a really nice town and the two pubs have great food, just leave your gumboots off

    I would highly recommend this accommodation to everyone staying in Methven. . Excellent value for money . Roaring fire . Extremely clean in all areas . Beds were made up beautifuly and so comfortable . A quick strol to the pubs and restaurant and shops. . Mountain views . The bar and restaurant were lovely What more could one ask.for!!!

    Hot pools were brilliant loved the adults only section.

    Hot pools were brilliant loved the adults only section. The Brown and Blue pubs were good and lively. The Dubliner was disappointing this time round it has turned into more of a restaurant than a bar - no atmosphere at all which was a shame as we have enjoyed this pub in the past.

    I highly recommend a stay.

    I highly recommend a stay. The beds are super comfortable, the food amazing, and the staff are so friendly and welcoming. This has become our favourite place to go to for a weekend away. The restaurant has toys and books for kids too.

    We a were delighted to find this property on our latest trip to Mt Hutt. The hotel is situated in the centre on Methven just a short walk from the local pubs, restaurants and hot pools. Room was large enough for a family of 4 with daily room service, tea, coffee facilities and toiletries. The complimentary breakfast was a nice surprise. The centre are with kids area, pool table and fireplace was lovely to replay and the kids could meet friends. The food served in the bar was excellent. It was great value for money.

    We stayed on a weekend trip to Methven. Location was fantastic, halfway between the hot pools and the shops. Lesley greeted us warmly when we arrived and we were able to grab some DVDs to watch in the room - excellent selection! The room was a great size, kitchenette had everything you need. The bedrooms were lovely and clean, and the beds were very comfy. Will absolutely be staying again.

    Awesome find almost smack bang in the middle of Methven. Beautiful rimu lined common areas and a roaring fire in the lounge. Breakfast provided which really speeds up getting ready in the morning to head up the mountain. Much appreciated. Beds were comfy and rooms quiet. Kids loved the pool table.
