Spacious apartment, comfy bed, clean and functional bathroom, lovely owner and dog. Good location with short walk to city centre. Breakfast is healthy 😋 The owner was so kind to send us to airport when we were unable to catch a cab or uber early morning. I will definitely stay here again next time I pass by this region

The home was a luxury stay, recently renovated and well appointed. The location was great and walking distance to the city. Our host was very helpful and assisted us when we needed to change dates. She was also very responsive to our queries. The back deck was sunny and in the winter this was geat. Very private which we also appreciated. Would definitely return ourselves and recommend to others.

    The shopping area was convenient.

The shopping area was convenient. I liked how the Warehouse and other shops were close by and a nice cafe/bakery was amongst it. Found it easy to get from one area to another with our GPS. Trying out Popeyes fast food was a interesting experience. Too spicy but then two of us were old codgers!!

Hastings is part of the Hawkes Bay region.

Hastings is part of the Hawkes Bay region. Napier is a much nicer place. Hastings town was empty with no shops or places to eat at night. Would stay in Napier & explore everything from there rather than basing your stay in Hastings. Surrounding areas offered things to do but you need your own transport. Excellent wineries but again operate during the day.

Over the years have periodically come back to Hastings for...

Over the years have periodically come back to Hastings for family events (Hastings born n bred) and seen the changes over the near 30yrs of being away and seen what the economy, covid,(truthfully) drugs have done to our beautiful city. This last trip back, to me Hastings seems a little brighter not as doomy and gloomy as my last couple of trips home. Hard to explain town just seems a little brighter and lifted biggest distasteful thing for me was the vagrants for loss of a better word seeing them disheartened me. We did our usual tour around I have seen worse but they just left a bitter taste in my mouth. If not for the dare I say it absolutely atrocious economy and vagrants and please don't say they're everywhere it's just they are so visible compared to say Napier(and being from Hastings I always had the feeling of competitiveness between us) I could see myself wanting to retire back home but for now it's a nope for me. It saddens me to feel that way because I truly love beyond a doubt our beautiful city but for now I'll live in hopes the economy of the country will pickup and make home a little more affordable and attractive to the ones who left for a better life (for my children (grown now) and myself) And having seen it for myself these last elections in USA will truly have a profound effect on the country and it won't be for the good. So Hastings hang in there till next time.❤️

Friendly atmosphere around. Most of amenities and facilities were central. Good variety of orchards to visit, a.nd pick your own fruits. Splash planet is a good place to take the whole family, on a good day, usually in the summertime. A lot warmer than Wellington.

We only visited the Supermarket as we had a Marie function just out of Hastings. We were there most of the weekend. It was beginning to rain when we all left and rained all the way to Gisborne. Hastings looks very tidy and upmarket. I hadn’t visited Hastings for many years. It was great.

Lovely studio room attached to house. Quiet neighbourhood. Lovely hosts who went above and beyond with making sure we were comfortable. Generous provisions for a continental breakfast and even a welcome drink were provided. Very easy to find our way to main centre of Hastings for restaurants for dinner.
