The guest facility at Dunstan Road is in a separate building overlooking the paddocks towards the hills beyond Alexandra. The location is wonderfully quiet and restful, yet within easy reach of Alexandra for shopping and Clyde for the best restaurants in the area. The rooms are beautifully appointed, well equipped and sparkling clean. Our hosts were cheerfully helpful and most pleasant to deal with. The breakfast hamper they provided was perfect. This was an absolutely first class B&B experience: strongly recommended.

The studio had everything we needed and more. Felt very welcoming. Great layout. Lovely deck and secluded garden area. Easy to find and parking right by the door. Effective heat pump cooling the studio on our arrival on hot day.

    There is a big clock on the hilltop.

    There is a big clock on the hilltop. A big playground in the city centre. An information centre with a museum and a small gallery in the same building. We could walk along the river in the bush. Grocery shopping was easy as there are two major supermarkets, New World and Woolworths. Fast food was easy to find. Cafes offer good-tasting coffee. There is plenty of free parking in the town centre, from where we could walk almost anywhere around the town. Alexandra is a small town for a visit, where you want to unwind in a laid-back setting. It is also close to Cromwell and Roxburgh, where you can go for cherry picking in the summer.

    Nothing to not like about Central Otago, Biking is superb...

    Nothing to not like about Central Otago, Biking is superb with Gold Trails, Dunstan Trail and Rail Trail all at your fingertips. Great cafe and restaurants in Clyde such as The Post Office and Olivers and The Court House in Alexandra.

    Alex is a great central place that you can get to all the good spots from. Much better than staying in Queenstown with all the traffic and planes going overhead. Accomm a bit more reasonably priced too

    Great cabin - if a bit small.

    Great cabin - if a bit small. Great view of mountain and cows. Beautiful breakfast and friendly hosts. Ate at Mexican restaraunt (seemed like the only one open). Good food and ambience. Would go back again.

    I was there for a golf tournament.

    I was there for a golf tournament. Absolutely awesome place to base yourself and friends. Has an amazing sports complex. I always enjoy a soak at the local pool. Lots of good restaurants to choose from. Including the RSA friendly and brilliant restaurant and atmosphere. Make time to browse around the shops

    Great town with personality.

    Great town with personality. Quality shopping available and awesome range of restaurants. Especially the Thai and RSA. Supermarkets options are great too. Recommend time at the local Pool . Nice to relax after an average game of golf. Must walk up to the clock on the hill. Beautiful views. And don't leave without walking over the bridge.

    Lovely apartment in a rural setting. Comfortable beds, spacious lounge, and great art, furniture and theming. Loved the farm animals, especially the highland cows who came to say hello! Good location for exploring Central Otago, only three minutes to Clyde, seven minutes to Alexandra and 20 minutes to Cromwell. The apartment is up a flight of stairs above the main garage and felt very private. We appreciated the woollen blankets for the cold nights!

    The staff I met were very friendly and helpful going out of their way to show me where everything was. The hotel is well located for beautiful walks locally. Loved my morning walk through the mist beside the river lined with autumn trees. There was a nice small kitchen with adequate cutlery etc. There was a choice of breakfast cereals etc for breakfast.

    A sweet little modern cottage, well separate from the host's home. Semi-rural but an easy 3 minute drive to historical/fashionable Clyde or 6 minutes to Alexandra. The pre-prepared breakfast (home baked bread, jam and fruits) was delicious.

    Clean, amazing location, best in Alexandra bar none, amazing hosts, they were very accommodating for our motorcycles amd we really appreciate that. Short and scenic walk to downtown makes for a complete experience. Thank you Maree and Ally!
