this hotel is great place for stopover. There is a park nearby and our family even managed a break there for a walk. This hotel is accessible with airport shuttle. The reception staff are truly warm team. This hotel is next to canal, sometimes you can see boat passing. This is my first choice again, if I stop over in Amsterdam again. They rent out bicycles too if you want to explore the park.

Between Dutch Windmills and Flowers

The gateway to the Netherlands, Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is one of the world’s busiest international passenger terminals and is home to the Dutch national airline – KLM.

The airport sits on reclaimed land around 3 metres below sea level on the site of a former huge inland lake. In fact, the name Schiphol may mean 'ship grave', a reference to the ships that would periodically be sunk in its turbulent waters.

A train station serving many Dutch cities lies beneath the terminal building which houses a mini Rijksmuseum exhibition, reference library with multilingual books, and plenty of shops selling the ubiquitous clogs, tulip bulbs and cheese.

Booking.com’s range of Schiphol Airport hotels includes several within the airport grounds. Others are in neighbouring Hoofddorp, a town also within the area of the former lake, whose De Eersteling windmill overlooks a dike encircling a former fort.

Another windmill – the Molen van Sloten – is across a canal from Badhoevedorp on the airport’s north side. To the east the huge Amsterdamse Bos forest is a haven of peace and tranquillity (apart from the occasional aircraft!) and borders Amstelveen. To the south-west is Aalsmeer, a town set on the huge Westeinderplassen Lake, and whose massive flower auction house receives daily consignments from all over the world.

    If you are passing through Schiphol, it's usually good.

    If you are passing through Schiphol, it's usually good. They have a speed track for those making connections with a short layover at passport control. However, in the summer, they get lots of thunderstorms, and so flights don't often arrive on time. If you get stuck there, the Dutch are not particularly warm or helpful, so expect a calloused response to any requests for help, particularly from KLM and the border agents at passport control who seem suspicious about why you are in Amsterdam in the first place.

    In spite of the convenient location, and decent ammenities, there were issues with early gaining access to our room, no hot water on the bathroom sink, on both our visits, logging onto the wi-fi network, and confusion among assigned accommodation.

    I had a long overnight layover in Amsterdam, arriving after midnight, so I chose the Mercure for its convenient location in the terminal. It was a very easy check in experience and a very comfortable room, perfect for my needs.

    Probably one of the best airport in my opinion.

    Probably one of the best airport in my opinion. Not big nor too small just the right size. Schipol Airport connects you to get to Amstredam Central by Train or Bus. Trains are extremely convenient and it's located inside the airport terminal. You don't have to leave the airport for anything. Lots and lots of good restaurant at budget price. I love coffee and generally the airport pricing are exhorbitant, in Schipol Airport the price was exactly the same as else where. Stay close to the airport

    Great Hotel directly located in the Airport Schiphol , we had a Suite wich was great and also Business Lounge Access with nice food in the evening and free drinks ,Personel in the lounge was exeptional . Also the spa area was great with different sauna options all for free and as well a whirlpool . Room was spacecious and beds where great , breakfast was also nice with lots of fresh options , the transfer to and from the airport and trainstation was trough the airport , you dont need to go outside .

    It was a great experience. I needed a hotel for 1 night close to the airport. It was very comfortable to take a shuttle from/to Schiphol. The breakfast starts at 6AM for early flights. Good choice for eating. Amazing bed, whitest bed linen and towels, clean shower! Polite staff even late at night and early in the morning. I asked about the wake-up call at 5:30 , and they called me very in time. Thank you !

    I like location is near Amsterdamse bos where we come for. Hotel is very close to Schiphol Airport but it s quiet. No noisy from airplane at all. Love comfy bed not too soft or too hard. Relaxing with bathing. We were late from dinner so no time to use swimming pool.

    It was my second stay in the hotel and as with my initial stay the experience met all of my expectations. In my opinion the CitizenM remains the most viable option for travelers needing to overnight near Schiphol airport in order to catch a red eye flight.
