Was upgraded to King Suite.. by far the biggest and most comfortable hotel room I've ever stayed in! Do yourself a favour and book the King Suite.. you will absolutely feel like a king/queen. Excellent gym and pool facilities, food menu and cocktails were stellar.

The room is new and clean The service is through whatsapp communication and perfect. Because the staff doesn’t speak English. That wasn’t a problem at all everything went nice and smooth with texting. The bed is so comfy. Very fast laundry service with pick up and delivery The amenities are royal and nice. I would come again. In the evening there is a food court and music in square with just locals so that’s a nice experience.

AMAZING! One of the best places we've stayed in our year of travel! We had 2 rooms and all guests were thrilled! The rooms have all been finished and fitted to a very high standard with high tech specs throughout such as electric window blinds, touch sockets etc. The attention to detail throughout is exceptional- the toiletries, free cleaning products and covid safe kit and even powerbanks with android and apple cables for borrowing in the bedside drawers! Beds and pillows were super comfortable and bathrooms were clean with good quality hot showers. Check in and check out processes were smooth and efficient and excellent communications from the CJ Residence team throughout! Also a great location-walkable to shops and malls and an easy Grab ride to the airport. 100% recommend and would stay again in KK! (in fact we already stayed twice!)

We loved our time at the Holiday Inn Express and even extended our stay. The whole package is modern, efficient, bright and welcoming. Though this is not a "Resort" hotel, no pool etc, it was perfect for our needs of a comfortable safe place to stay while going about our business of exploring KK etc. It had been especially good as we had relocated there from another booking in a nearby hotel which was a disaster, we walked out and forfeited our payment. So, Holiday Inn was a great comfort to find and we'd certainly stay there again.

Tropical Paradise in East Malaysia

Kota Kinabalu (KK) is the capital of the East Malaysian state of Sabah on the island of Borneo. It features white-sand beaches, tropical rainforests and the outer lying coral reefs and islands of the Tunku Abdul Rahman (TAR) Marine Park, a haven for scuba divers.

Occupied by the Japanese and heavily bombed during World War II by the British, some remnants of this colonial era remain in the Atkinson Clock Tower and Signal Hill Observatory, with its sweeping view of the coast.

Tanjung Arn is KK’s most popular public beach and secluded northern beaches like Karambunai and Dalit have resorts dotted along the coast.

Kota Kinabalu Harbour hosts international cruise ships and the KK Waterfront is a popular place with many bars. The KK Handicraft Market is your chance to grab a nice souvenir to take home.

Mount Kinabalu is Malaysia’s highest mountain at 4,101 metres. This highly important ecological region contains rare fauna and flora and makes a good day trip from the capital.

    Kota Kinabalu is the most cosmopolitan of the cities in Sarawak and Sabah. Shopping is good, plenty of eateries and the inner city is walkable . The traffic like in all Malaysian cities is horrific. I want to point out that taxies in Malaysia don't have meters any more and charge for transport whatever the want (always to much) compared to Grab/Uber.

    I love Kota Kinabalu.

    I love Kota Kinabalu. There are a lot of nice restaurants, and there are some beautiful islands you can get to. I also love the local restaurants and the dessert places like the Royal Coconut. I would definitely go back again.

    Great scenery, great food, just need to be careful with the safety, sometimes you can see some homeless people in the street, and too many promoters, the local authority might need to enforce on the road safety and supervision on the overall hygine.

    There are many interesting places to visit for example the Medical Science Musuem, Aquarium and Art Gallery located in University Sabah Campus. The Filipino market nice souvenir items but you will need to bargain. For seafood lovers, this is a fantastic place to satisfy your cravings. Island hopping is also great. Good idea to bring along your own pre-packed food and drinks unless you do not need to budget expenses. Just people watching whilst enjoying a cool drink is also an eye opener. There are many differences with what prevails in West M'sia. I also loved the fact that the airport was just about 20 minutes drive away from the hotel - so convenient and time (cost) saving

    i love the fact its a contemporary/modern themed hotel and the layout of the room was carefully planned and everything you might need made available. The valet parking service is a very good option for those who drive to KK. Suria Mall is just across the street and jesselton duty free. the buffet is just perfectly priced for the quality and amount.

    The room was spacious and the view overlooking the mountains and city is great. The adjoining mall and shops around the hotel provided easy access to food and services. The hotel location so near the KK international airport is an unexpected bonus that helps quell anxieties related to travelling to the airport for our departure home.
