It's Time to Playa!
At the centre of the Mayan Riveria is Playa del Carmen, a playground for hip Europeans and toned-and-tanned Americans. This resort town showcases the renowned white-sand beaches of the Caribbean Coast along the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico.
Playa del Carmen's powdery white sands are nestled between Cancun to its north, Tulum in the south and the island of Cozumel, 20 km east with its fantastic diving in the nearby Great Maya Reef. Awake from an afternoon nap to take a dip, go snorkelling or deep-sea fishing in the beautiful blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico.
Playa is an easy choice as a holiday destination with its range of hotels, many first-class restaurants and beachside nightclubs. Quinta Avienda, also known as 5th Avenue, is the main tourist hub and shopping district. For a more authentic Mexico experience, venture outside of the centre to a local cenote (sinkhole) or Mayan ruins in Tulum.
Cruise ships dock in nearby Cozumel and traffic people to the mainland arriving at the Playa del Carmen Maritime Terminal. If the glimmering Caribbean waters are full, then Booking.com has a huge number of hotels with an outdoor swimming pool by the beach.

Safer than advertised in uk. Police around every corner but we don’t believe they need to be there. Lots of friendly people. It’s a little off putting that store holders shout at you to go in their shops but I suppose they want the customers. I’m just not into being dragged into shops, I like to choose where I go in. Checked out early as couldn’t stay here any longer. Tried to raise a complaint with the duty manager and was treated worse after doing so. Food is bad and you have to Que to get into the buffet restaurant because they claim they are not busy due to low season so not opening up all of the restaurant. The ocean water isn’t as clear as I would like it to be…but other than that, there are great places to dine, have brunch and meet people! We live nearby and visit Play del Carmen for shopping and date nights. We enjoy it greatly! It's a beautiful area downtown, always busy and bustling. Do keep an eye on your belongings as it is an area for pick pockets and be prepared to just say no to hawkers.Guest review byMary - 6.0

I had a hard time with not having the whole staff on the same page. One person said do it this way, another said do it another way. App is not user friendly. They push the app but it was not as up to date as it should be. It is a time-share hotel. I didn't like that. It says Adults only, all inclusive, but there is only 1 adults only restaurant, and there is no beach area that is adults only.
