The beaches are fine, with sunbeds and umbrellas costing about €15 in most places, which isn’t bad. There are also areas where you can rest on the beach and use your own things without anyone saying anything. There are plenty of beaches along the coast and lots of food options. It’s generally quite clean, though, as always, you will find spots that are a bit dirty or look poorly maintained. Overall, it’s okay and a good place to stay if you want to travel north or south. Just remember, traffic can be horrendous – if you get stuck, it could be for a couple of hours. I couldn’t complain about staying there; it was nice, and there were no idiots on the beaches, no people begging. It felt very much like Croatia, except the maintenance could be better. Yes, I would come back here, but I think it will take a few more years before it reaches the point where it could be considered a “luxury” destination. At the moment, there are a lot of hotels being built, and more attention to maintenance and cleaning around the buildings and yards would help attract more financially stable customers.Guest review byPawelPoland - 10.0

Budva is an absolute gem on the Adriatic coast! The city is bursting with life and offers something for everyone – from the enchanting Old Town with its centuries-old walls and charming narrow streets, to a variety of beautiful beaches. Jaz Beach stands out with its lively atmosphere and events, Ploče Beach impresses with crystal-clear waters and excellent facilities, while Hawaii Beach on the small island nearby feels like a true escape. Everything is within walking distance, and the evening promenade is especially enjoyable. Budva is lovely but be prepared for heavy traffic! It takes about an hour to do the airport journey which is only about 28 km. Around Budva can be bad, particularly north towards the old town and Slovenska Plaza. Parking at the beaches is mental and can be expensive - most will charge 5 euros for the day. Sunloungers are min 25 euros per day so the costs rack up if you're going every day. However, the beach is comfortable to lie on without a lounger if you have an umbrella. There are some great restaurants although generally fresh fruit and veg are nothing like at home (UK) - I guess we are spoiled. However, the downsides do not outweigh the positives as it is an incredibly beautiful landscape - the coastline is jawdropping, the beaches are lovely and the water is crystal clear. It was only a 10-minute walk to the Old Town, and our room was peaceful. We had a big window, no view to speak of but that didn't matter to us. The location is excellent, just 5-7 minutes from the bus station and 15-20 minutes to the old town.
