United KingdomThis was the best of many great stays in Morocco.
Maison d’Hote Sirwaji is a small eco-hotel set in the old town of Assa. It is beautifully set-up. Four separate rooms – all ensuite. Three around a small courtyard. One on the roof terrace. My room faced the courtyard. It had a large and very comfortable bed, a well-designed bathroom (with plenty of hot water) and an area to sit directly outside. (The booking.com description is a bit confusing. It is four ensuite bedrooms rather than a large apartment.)
Hussain looked after the hotel – made an outstanding breakfast and I think was available to cook dinner if needed. Assa the town was a delight. Friendly and helpful people. An old town to explore, walks in the oasis, or out in the desert, carvings and more. And few tourists. A great place to go. Thank you Hussain and Ali.
