Despite being almost 200 km from the seashore the city had an inspiring shore holiday feel with a great beach side island in the middle of the city. Host provided a number of useful items such as tea/coffee, toothbrushes, toiletries etc which we were especially grateful for after travelling. Apartment itself was lovely with a balcony to sit outside an extremely comfy bed! We arrived very late in the evening but the host contacted us beforehand so there was no problem gaining access to the property. They allowed me to bring my bike into my room to ensure that it is kept safely. The room itself was spacious enough for it, it had 4 beds but was all mine. Bathroom and the room itself were very clean. The place is in the quiet part of Aluksne so it was very quiet throughout the night although it was a long weekend.
