It definitely is an experience worth trying. The tree house has all the comforts you need but yet kept on the simple side. Don't expect much and you will get a lot. Nice food Bbq and big fire lit for you in the evening to give you a chance to relax and talk about your day activities. It was great to be left alone and the silence of the night. We visited Yala for two days (with two separate game drives - one evening and one morning one) and although we enjoyed the animals we observed, we did not have any sightings of leopards despite being the national park with the highest concentration in the world. But that is nature so we were just unlucky on those days. However, the most disappointing aspect of Yala was the sheer number of vehicles allowed into the park at one time. As soon as elephants or leopards are sighted, drivers communicate among themselves and vehicles all rush to the scene creating a massive traffic jams. Terrible time. No wild animals as expected. Roads are all around the jungle which is pretty disturbing to the wild life. After all it is supposed to be a protected zone for wild life. Jeeps are crawling every corner of the territory. Amused to see all of that disturbing scenes in a wild life protected zone. It's like business zone. I loved Yala.
I loved Yala. The number of different animals seen was slightly disappointing but apparently wash outs due to rain prevented us from accessing some internal roads. The national park in Yala is beautiful however it is hard to drive around as the roads are poorly maintained. There is a large populatin of birds and i think this safari would suit bird watchers more than those who want to see the elephants. The 6am -6pm safari is too long. We were in Yala just one night and took advantage of the pool the first day and booked a safari for the next morning. The hotel is wonderfully clean and well maintained. But what was even better was the staff. We are both vegans and the staff did everything right for the dinner. We got a full set meal rice and curry with 6 different currys - even soy meat curry! The location was convenient to access Yala NP. We went on an early Safari in Yala NP and they supplied a really nice packed breakfast. You get to see a lot of wildlife without even leaving the hotel. We saw crocodiles, water buffalo, lots of beautiful birds, wild boar roaming the hotel and of course monkeys. The food was one of the best.
