Arriving at Art Yala my mouth fell open. Located at the lake with a beautiful terrace and the interior design could be found in a magazine. With the most delicious vegetarian rice & curry, a bathroom like a ballroom hall and a bed where you never want to come out made clear that my stay was too short. And the safari with the best and most friendly guide Dulitha made it complete. Thank you!

Just everything. Really nice apartment, specially equipped for western turists, with hair dryer, toilet brush, drinking water, big room and bathroom, with big patio in front of the room, plus swimming pool. What else can you wish more. It was the best experience during my trip in Sri Lanka. Big bonus was also Janaka, resort manager who organized Safari in Yala for us.

The owner (Guyan) went over and above to make my stay memorable. What a fantastic host! He arranged so many things for me: Pickup and drop off at the bus stop. Assisted with the booking for the Yala National Park with an early morning pickup with a jeep. Welcoming teas and delicious cakes. Complimentary tour of the nearby lake and a sunset hike. The owner Randy is amazingly friendly and willing to do his very best to serve his guests. The room is great - spacious, clean and comfortable. The food is fabulous - the best Sri Lankan breakfast we got during our entire journey in Sri Lanka! If you have time Randy will show you around - something you should consider doing. You will enjoy the nice surroundings and learn about Randy's village. This is absolutely great value for money.

Where do I even start? The owner was the nicest host we encountered in Sri Lanka. Forget about eating anywhere but at their house. They prepare the most delicious curry - best we had so far. They breakfast was really good and the portions are very large. The host also organized a safari to Yala park with a very experinced ranger. We even saw a Leopard and a tusker. The host proposed that we go to Kataragama with him for the festival. He arranged the best seats at the festival just for us - free of charge. We met some of the nicest people at the festival, they explained all the history during the festival and tried to please all of our expectations. The location of the house is also at the edge of a very beautiful lake. All in all, you will not be disapointed to book your stay here.

The accommodation is next to rice field for a totally different experince and fantastic view. The room is very spacious with very good aircon and hot water for shower. There is good wifi and many power points to charge multiple mobiles and laptop all at the same time. There is a small refrigerator, kettle, and cups with tea, coffee provided. There is hanging rack for clothing. The room even has a call button if we need to communicate with him. He responded to whatsapp promptly. The host Saradh is very accommodating and always going out of his way to make our stay comfortable and pleasant. He served us welcome juice upon arrival and returning from Yala safari. Breakfast is delicious with local menu and in big serving with varieties. He packed for us adequate breakfast for us to bring along for the safari. He helped us arranged Yala safari and help us with transport for our next destination. He ensured we had a very comfortable stay. We were well taken care of throughout our stay and very happy with the service extended. Highly recommended to choose Village Mango Resort Yala if we visit Tissa for Yala safari.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room was very spacious and spotlessly clean, which made my stay extremely comfortable. Great location close to Yala Safari. However, the highlight of the entire experience was the owner. She was incredibly helpful, always ready to assist with anything I needed. I would definitely recommend this place:)

    Tissamaharama is a fantastic base for anyone looking to explore the natural beauty and rich culture of southern Sri Lanka. It's perfectly located for Yala National Park safaris, offering easy access to incredible wildlife encounters. Beyond the safaris, the town itself has a calm, local vibe with beautiful lakes and ancient temples to discover. You'll find plenty of local restaurants and shops, making it easy to enjoy authentic Sri Lankan experiences. It's a great spot for both adventure and relaxation, and I highly recommend spending some time here!

    The owner of Serenity lake advices us to visit Yala safari, Sithul pawwa magul viharaya and sithul pawwa a super history with beautiful scenery, which we did and we're very grateful for his advice. We returned to the serenity lake to have lunch before heading off. Requested for a village kind of lunch with the local veggies and it was served on a lotus leaf... The most delicious meal it was. We had lunch at Reds and at the Serenity lake .

    The location is excellent and the resort is real value for money . The food was excellent . The rooms were nice . The toiletries in the bathrooms needs to improve . The bathroom needs exhaust fans as it can get quite stuffy . The resort manager Mr Upal is a nice friendly bloke and is exceptional in his service . Overall a very pleasant experience .

    This is a great location to stay if you want to visit the national parks and My Village will organise safaris to the four parks in the area either a half or full day. The local town is not a tourist town but it's great to wander around looking in the local shops.

    We were there the first time for safari.

    We were there the first time for safari. We had a tour to the Buddha by the sea…amazing. This time we were passing through on our way to Ella. We ate at Red Pizza which was just as good second time round.

    Was in Tissamaharama for Yala Safari, had booked the early morning Safari. Disappointed with the Safari as there were very few animals except.for.peacocks and spotted dear. Later into the ride our jeep driver and guide revealed we had entered through block 5 of the Safari and most the animals(Leopard, Bears) mostly are sighted in block 1 and 2. Block 1 and 2 were closed that day, maybe just our luck. So I guess check, with the Safari organizer before booking your safari as it quite expensive. Basically disappointed ☹️

    This is a great budget hotel that has the added benefit of a very clean pool. The shower was hot and the best we had in Sri Lanka in our first week, Breakfast was amazing especially the Dhal. Shantha the host was easy to communicate with and arranged our tour of Yala and our ongoing transport to Tangelle at a very fair price. We found Shantha to be an honest man that cared about his guests. Overall the stay was a very pleasant one and we would stay here again.

    Exellent Stay in Tissa.We came here to go on a safari from them. We saw that there are very good reviews. We booked a safari from them and it was really good. Talking about the driver, he is very skilled. We wanted to see leopard. He was able to make us see a leopard..we saw many other animals. Talking about the hotels, there were very good clean rooms and the staff was also very kind. We hope to come again when we come to Sri Lanka.

    Nested in a peaceful beautiful jungle landscape. Very warm and caring welcome from the manager with personal touch and wonderful walk together to the ancient rock monastery and rice plantation. No crowds of tourists, but stunning real jungle and wild nature. We had the chance to taste typical Sri Lanka food, that was delicious. Thank you!🙏 We are happy of the choice we made versus hotels in Yala and highly recommend this charming lodge.

    What a wonderful place to stay! The design of the hotel is beautiful and creates a great atmosphere. It’s super spacious, perfect for relaxing. The room was amazing, and we slept really well. The safari to Yala was also incredible. But the best part was the food—the breakfast was definitely the most delicious we had in all of Sri Lanka. We would absolutely come back! ❤️
