With the convenience of scanning a QR code in the comfort of my room, I could effortlessly order delicious meals through WhatsApp well in advance. While the meals took a bit longer to prepare, the freshness and quality were well worth the wait. The staff at Subaseth Villa went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable and memorable. Their willingness to assist with any request, from room service to arranging tours, truly exemplified their dedication to hospitality. Nestled amidst the tranquil jungle surroundings, the hotel provided a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The sight of peacocks, monkeys, and squirrels frolicking in the hotel garden added an extra layer of charm to the experience. One highlight of my stay was the early morning packed breakfast provided for our Wilpattu tour at 5:30 am. It was a thoughtful touch that allowed us to start our day of exploration on the right foot. Moreover, the presence of an organic coconut and mango grove on the premises added a delightful tropical touch to the experience, showcasing a commitment to sustainability and locally sourced produce. In conclusion, my time at Subaseth Villa was nothing short of extraordinary. From the warm hospitality to the breathtaking surroundings, every moment exceeded my expectations. I can't wait to return for another unforgettable stay.

Very charming hotel surounded by an amazing vegetation. Typical Sri Lankan food served in outdoor restaurant. Smal pool available, ideal for refreshing after your tours. Best hospitality and service i ever found in Sri Lanka!!! Get in and enjoy

This was our first stop in our 10 day journey across Sri Lanka and they really set the bar very high. The staff were very friendly and super helpful. The food was delicious! After a day of visiting all the historical places in Anuradhapura this hotel had the perfect atmosphere to wind down and relax. Very highly recommend!

Really clean and quiet hotel on the edge of the town. They have free bikes which was great to cycle to the local restaurants and the ancient city. There is also free laundry, though I didn't make use of it in the end but good to know for fellow backpackers. Bed was comfortable, AC worked really well, hot shower. My room was spotless. The staff are excellent and extremely kind. I had an unpleasant encounter during my time in Anuradhapura and Lakshan was very kind. The owner Sagara also reached out to me which was so thoughtful. Highly recommend staying here, I felt safe there as a solo female traveller.

Chaya is a wonderful hostess, who welcomed us to her home with extraordinary warmth. She made sure we are well-fed, our excursions are well-organised with very professional drivers for very reasonable prices. The house itself sits in a lovely tropical garden full of various wildlife, which was very interesting to watch. It is on the outskirts of the city, far from the noise, yet close and accessible to all the attractions. There is an outside kitchen, where all the meals are made and the cooking classes are done with an open fire and freshly grated coconuts. Definitely recommend for those who would like to get immersed in the authentic, local life, eat delicious home-made food and discover all the centuries old secrets that the city of Anaradhapura and its surroundings hold.

The host family is the highlight. The rooms are super clean and comfortable. Shehan and Siri went extra mile to make us feel at home. Make sure to book a trip to the sites with Lalit who is extremely knowledgeable and fun

I had a lovely stay at Residence by Amaya. The place is peaceful, clean, and beautifully maintained. The staff were warm and welcoming, and the room was spacious and comfortable. It truly felt like a home away from home. I’d definitely love to come back!

Nimal was really nice, hospitable and always willing go an extra mile, anything you need he will find it. He arrange a bicycle for free and went to see the temples around. Also companied me to see the sunset in his bike. He is a good man will take you to eat at local and cheap places. Thanks 😊
