Food and drinks were lovely, we had some dinner and juice. The room was clean and comfortable, perfect size for us (we were 4 adults). Staff was very helpful and nice. The environment was beautiful, an amazing garden and pool. I would recommend this place to friends and family.

Beautiful and clean Hotel with an epic view of Sigiriya Rock! The stuff was super helpful and nice, especially Dhananjaya. He made sure there is absolutely nothing that we are missing. I can only recommend this hotel when visiting Sigiriya!

We spent two nights at the lion gate hotel. We were warmly welcomed by Bernard and his team on arrival and felt very comfortable and relaxed throughout our stay. Bernard organized everything for us, whether it was a tuktuk, lion rock, safari in the minneriya national park or transfer to kandy. The breakfast was brilliant and very rich. In addition, you can have a very tasty lunch and dinner. The accommodation is very clean and well maintained, we would definitely book the accommodation again!

Excellent place to spend few days or even weeks. The rooms are big, clean and modern. One can order breakfast, lunch, dinner and basically anything you want. The menu is it boring but if you talk to the chef, he will make you the best autentic Srilankan meal in the whole country. We had dinner every night during our stay and the chef made us such a delicous food which we will not forget. The owner is a great guy and he is always there to help you out and answer your questions in several languages ;)

It was an amazing, quiet stay in Sigiriya. The pool was very nice and the bathroom... The best bathroom so far in Sri Lanka! Really clean, large, hot water and good waterpressure. Room was very spacious as well.

The pool is amazing! Very clean, nice temperature! The staff is very helpfull, responsive and will give you the best tips for your trip! We took a tuktuk to Pollonaruwa old city and enjoyed the trip so much! The driver told us so many wonderfull things about the region, we just loved the whole day being with him.

The owner is very kind and helpfull. The view is outstanding, you can see the rice fields and the Lion rock from the terrace. Also there is a lake where you can walk or chill on the big terrace or garden in front of your room. At night you can hear the soothing animal noises. The rooms are very clean and big.

    A nice hike to view a breathe taking view. If anyone should travel to Sigiriya they should start to climb the rock at 5.30am as the ticket counters open. Wearing proper hiking or workout clothes would be the best.

    Sigiriya is stunning and has a lovely village charm to it, compared to the tourist/backpacker mecca that is Ella. There are plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from but it somehow doesn't detract and Sigiriya still feels very local and true to SL values.

    Stayed 6 nights and used Sigiriya as a base for visiting the ancient cities, an elephant safari, a boat trip, for Dambulla caves, a Loris walk and to climb Lion Rock and Pidurangala. This is the perfect spot being central to all those places and having great facilities with a lovely sleepy village feel. Tuk tuks prices are a bit hiked but nothing else negative to say.

    Watching the sunset from Sigiriya was truly unforgettable.

    Watching the sunset from Sigiriya was truly unforgettable. As the sun dipped low behind the distant hills, the entire landscape transformed into a canvas of gold, orange, and soft pinks. The ancient rock fortress, already majestic by day, took on a mystical glow during golden hour.

    It's a must see.

    It's a must see. So much history, fantastic views from the ground and the top of Sigiriya and Pidurangala Rocks. Pick your times to visit the sites due to heat. I missed the crowds which was great. We also visited Dambulla Cave Temples and Polonnaruwa Ancient City. They are not far from Sigiriya. We had a fairly full schedule and would have loved to squeeze in some of the other things offered around Sigiriya. Next time!

    We are in our mid sixties with mobility issues.

    We are in our mid sixties with mobility issues. Only went to the rock to take photos but ended up climbing right to the top. Very humid and over 1200 steps each way but took our time and took plenty of rest breaks so managed it. Such an achievement. Don’t let age or fitness put you off trying 😀

    A beautiful spot with a great pool/ sunbathing area, on the peaceful outskirts of Sigiriya. Lovely, family-run hotel - owner, Bandu, was full of good cheer and very helpful arranging trips for us. Large, comfortable room and balcony to sit out on. Picturesque setting. Our family had a very happy couple of days here; great base for the cultural triangle. And the restaurant served great breakfast and diner - best we had in Sigiriya.

    Roo Mansala is the best hotel we visited in Sri Lanka. We had a villa on the upper floor overlooking the Pidurangala and Sigiriya rocks. The pool is lovely and they also have an upper observation deck where you can see the nearby lake and beautiful birds. The food is delicious and the staff are all very helpful and caring. They even organised our last dinner on the upper deck which was a real treat. Highly recommended!

    Our stay at the thick forest was lovely. The treehouse in the forest give a cozy atmosphere. The location is perfect, right between Sigiriya and Pidurangula rock. The Hotel offers bicycle so you can easily go to Sigiriya city and enjoy the surrounding nature by bike. We were very nicely welcomed and throughout our stay the host was very accommodating and helpful with tips what to do.

    Good location. Stunning view. Helpful staffs. Confortable room. Surrounded by nature. Best rice and curry in Sigiriya. Our driver was coming late in the morning and he did not answer my call, the staff of this hotel went to find him by bicycle.
