We really like the location of the place and the friendliness of the staff. The room was great, clean, and with a beautiful view of the ocean. The hotel helped with all our inquiries from being driven from Colombo airport (by Chinthaka) to the hotel, to taking out money, or find our way to a restaurant.

Absolutely brilliant staff, super helpful and friendly. The setting is beautiful with the beach being pretty much deserted for miles and miles. Rooms were lovely and the food was absolutely outstanding. Highly recommended!

The room was brand new, sparkling clean, and just a few steps from the beach. The owner and his staff were exceptionally kind, caring, and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Their warm hospitality truly made our stay unforgettable! We received a warm welcome from the owner and staff, who went above and beyond to meet our needs. The place is amazing, brand new, with beautiful, comfortable, and clean cabanas, exactly as shown in the pictures. The pool area is also great, and the resort is within walking distance of Nilaveli Beach and good restaurants. We stayed for three days and had the break and relaxation we were looking for. We’ll definitely come back!

From all the hotels in the area this was by far the most chilled one, really nice holiday vibe, lots of hang out space and no loud music :) so if you are looking for a place to relax in a calming and rather silent area, Mithra is the right place for you! Though we were here in September so we don’t know about high season :) The staff was really helpful with everything, thank you so much again! Special thanks to Pragash, who managed our stay just perfectly!

    I liked the small hotel we stayed in on the beach front (Mithra Paradise) and the semi-private beach. A real gem if you're looking for a quiet romantic place. Much better than the big faceless commercial hotels. I would recomemmend the small guest houses in the whole of SL for this reason as the service is exceptional and they are usually family-run so they put a lot of love and effort into pleasing their guests. No mosquitoes in July. Avoid the dolphin watching 'chasing' tours. Loads of boats making a big noise and running over the dolphins. Poor animals. You only glimpse them for a few seconds and the boat ride is hell on your back. Try the snorkelling instead.

    it was great there.No worries about the sea,just the wind was blowing a bit strong.Com[any always around you,you are safe there.You can book snorkelling,boat rides,sea tour any time,many options available.saw about 200 DOLPHINS!fisherman always fuzzing around in the morning.Annoying fishing boats.

    A much more peaceful beach holiday that at neighbouring Uppaveli, so if you want to get away from the crowds, it’s a perfect spot. The surrounding countryside looks beautiful too - I wish we’d have had more time to explore. We ate at Sara’s fish restaurant, where the seafood kottu & prawn curry were delicious.

    Nilaveli is the perfect beach if you want peace and quiet , not many shops or facilities about, a few ok restaurants near by some expensive for Sri Lanka even more pricey than England, would need to travel 15km by local Tuk Tuk to find a good choice in Trincomalee-Nilaveli-Pulmodai which around 2000 rupees each way

    Very soft golden sand. Sea was not rough during our stay. Snorkeling trips are arranged by guides to nearby Pigeon Island. Pristine corrals and species. May be less restaurants along the beach, and not much of public facilities like toilets and wheelchair access etc

    Nilaveli has a lot to offer.

    Nilaveli has a lot to offer. The lower part of the beach closer to Trincomalee is very much like Bali or Goa with lots of accommodation including budget friendly options. It has many small cafes and restaurants right on the beach. There are also many dive shops offering diving experiences at Pigeon Island just off the coast. The upper end of the beach is more secluded and has fewer beach cafes and bars. This is where the larger more upmarket Nilaveli Beach Hotel is located.

    This is a fantastic place to stay on Nilaveli beach. The pool and gardens are immaculately kept, but it is the proximity to the beach that is the real standout. White sand and turquoise waters with lovely sun loungers make this a beautifulplace to relax. The food in the restaurant is good - fruit, juice and tea/coffee and then either a Sri Lankan option or pancakes or omelette for breakfast - and you can eat dinner right on the beach listening to the ocean waves. All of the staff are lovely and really helpful. Highly recommend

    This is a very basic budget guest house. It is only 150 metres to the main Nilaveli beach and the boats to take you to Pidgeon Island. The room was decent and the shower water pressure was excellent. The beds were comfortable and we had air conditioning. The provided breakfast was basic but nice. In this price point it provided what you needed. If the owner gets the cleanliness issues sorted then we would rate this guest house higher.

    this place is THE place to stay in Nilaveli or trincomalee area. Even though the area is very hot, this felt like a cool oasis. lots of space to chill, do yoga or read. The rooms are also big, not too hot and shower has a great preassure! The owners are amazing hosts, super friendly, we enjoyed the conversations. Thank you! ☀️

    The rooms at Avila are good size and very clean. The linen is of high quality, and the lighting is good too. We loved the quiet neighbourhood, its also a 2 min walk to the Nilaveli beach. The breakfast, although limited, was good.
