Olinda Galle is an exquisite hidden gem down a quiet lane near the centre of the city. From the minute you walk in the rustic wooden doors, your breath is taken away by the beautiful central pool and surroundings. The decor is full of incredible antique pieces and thoughtful touches everywhere you look. This hotel has clearly been built by a very accomplished architect and interior designer. Our room had a wrap around balcony with both large sliding doors and teak shuttered windows. In the morning we opened up both and the room was filled with light and a breeze with the sound of birds in the surrounding palms. The bed was amazingly comfortable with crispy white sheets and gorgeous soft pillows. When we came up to bed (after a truly delicious supper of octopus and prawns) we found that the room had been prepared for us with the Roman blinds pulled down and the mosquito net closed around the four poster bed. No stone is left unturned here and the attention to detail from the staff was second to none.

Stunning, brand-new, incredibly friendly hotel. First of all, this property looks exactly like it is in the pictures: private, luxurious, comfortable, and beautiful. There are only 11 rooms including the superior room with a huge terrace. All rooms have balconies or terraces, so you can enjoy your time looking at the beach and ocean waves or busy and funny Hikka’s streets. In your room, you will have everything you might possibly need. You won’t want to leave that bed, it's so comfortable and was made for your best sleep. The pool is big and clean, you will have plenty of options for where to get your tan: on big beds, on covered or open chaise lounges, on the grass, or near the pool. The territory itself isn't that big, but it's well taken care of, clean and functional. You can get access to the 360• view terrace or enjoy some time in the gym. There is a bar and a kitchen for your comfort, you should definitely get some milkshakes and Caesar salad! We have walked near almost every hotel on Hikkaduwa’s beaches and even big, branded and famous ones aren’t even close to Dormero. As for breakfast, you can get a traditional one or choose one of many options, including omelets, bowls, sandwiches, waffles, and many more. No matter what you choose, it will be delicious. And it is very hard to even start talking about personnel. Everyone there has only one goal: to make your stay as good as possible. There are some securities, who constantly check on the property’s safety; barmen, who will make you the best cocktails; cleaners, who will clean up the room every day… And Franziska! What an angel! She will help you with ANYTHING, she will become the best hotel manager in your life, you won’t want to leave just because of her 🥹 We loved them all! (Also, there is a cute dog Kiki and monitor lizard that checks on you while you are getting sunbaths ☺️ ).

The property is brand new, very well decorated and clean. Since it’s outside the main road, it’s also very quiet and peaceful. The owner and staff are the friendlier and caring you can find - ready to assist any time - who also prepare delicious and varied breakfast every day. We booked the place for two nights and ended up staying six. WiFi works is extremely fast, which is very convenient if you have to work and do VTC. Also the rooms are much bigger than advertised, they have a separate kitchen and a washing machine! We would definitely go back to this peaceful hidden gem! Amazing location, right on the beach. Lively atmosphere throughout the day compared to places nearby which had almost no guests around. Rooms are clean and well maintained. Main highlights: food, views and friendly service

This beautifully restored property brings you back in time in the most elegant way. We loved every minute of our stay and our room and surrounds were unparalleled. It’s an easy still into the bustling town, but to be honest we almost felt like we didn’t want to leave. The staff were as welcoming and friendly as you could possibly imagine.

Great environment, relaxing, helpful staff, great private beach, treated my kids very well. Food was tasty, we loved the cinnamon shampoo. My kids had a great turtle experience thanks to the staff.

A very good breakfast with mixed Sri Lankan food and western toast . Very nice with fruit plate and exotic fresh juice , It was a good location in a calm street and took only a few minutes to walk to the beach and main street .

The hotel is located right on the beach, not far from Galle, and from the rooms you can have a panoramic view of the vast beach in Hikkaduwa. The rooms are spacious and equipped with smart home appliances, a kitchen, an oven, tableware, and all the necessary facilities. The food served at the hotel is particularly outstanding and delicious! It was the best meal I've ever had in Sri Lanka! The hotel staff are very friendly! We had a great time in Hikkaduwa!

Awesome room with attached bathroom. Hotel is very charming. Owners are very friendly and there was a Huge delicious Breakfast with lots of Sri Lankan foods. Breakfast is 10/10.
