This property was in a beautiful setting! You feel very close to nature, with lots of trees, plants, birds. It is right on a lake. The owner, Anne, the manager, Amal, and each and every staff member were incredibly kind and professional. Our every need was met. We had full board, and the food exceeded our expectations! We were so full! There were lots of choices, but we had Sri Lankan food, it was just delicious! We had Tranquil book us two safaris, and we loved them! We didn’t see leopards, but another group did the same day we went out. We saw plenty of wildlife. A bonus was the fresh, clean pool for a morning or afternoon swim, with chairs to relax in the sun or shade. Thank you, Tranquil, for your hospitality. We’ll be back! We recommend this place and the park nearby, over the busier places.

The place is fantastic. The room is spacious and has all the amenities you need. Small fridge, kettle tea coffee. There is water in the bedroom as well. We had an amazing stay. They can accommodate for dinner. The food was absolutely delicious and all home made. They offer tours to Yala park as well and it's definitely worth it we had one of the best guides.

New Cormorant Lake Resort provided an excellent experience from start to finish. The host graciously guided us around the lake at no extra cost, sharing his extensive knowledge about the local animals and plants. He was incredibly friendly and helpful, even welcoming us with a drink upon arrival. The room was clean, nice, simple, and comfortable, providing just what we needed for a relaxing stay. The surroundings of the resort are beautiful and bring you close to nature. I highly recommend New Cormorant Lake Resort for anyone seeking a good accommodation close to Yala National Park.

Words cannot really express how kind and accommodating Nalin and his family were. They did so much beyond expectations to make our stay perfect. We had to stay an extra day due to sickness and from getting medication from the pharmacy, arranging everything we needed no matter what and just generally being very interesting and keen to learn about other cultures in a completely comfortable and non intrusive manner it was superb. Been to Sri Lanka many times and mat so many kind Sri Lankans but Nalin clearly stands out. The rooms were spotless, no smell of damp (which can happen due to humidity in some places), we had the room of AC which was lovely, but a family member had a non ac room which was comfortable with the fans provided. Food was superb and they will arrange ahead of any dietary requirements. It was an honour to stay there and have the please of such good hospitality. I can see why this is 10/10 and 5* on Google! Also ask ahead about Safari and what animals you want to see and the type of trip you want because Yalla can be quite hectic and Nalin will help a lot. We arranged a tour beforehand which was good but it would have been better to have had some local knowledge prior to this as the Safari was quite hectic.

Loved everything about the property- from the host to the little birds eating away in the front porch. We had booked this place for one night and wish we booked for more as it turned out to be the best accommodation we had in Sri Lanka in our trip. Randy took us around in the evening and we saw his beautiful village and could attend the local festival an hour away - we got really lucky. We woke up the next day for a 4:30 AM safari and Randy was there waiting for us with two bottles of water. Absolutely beautiful hospitality and kindness. We were in awe. Big thanks to Randy and his wife for such a lovely time in Yala and for making our anniversary such a special one.

Super clean, amazing and very attentive owner and staff and gorgeous view of the lake. The owner picked us up from the bus stop and showed us around the lakes. He is so knowledgeable about all the fauna and takes time to tell you about everything. We saw all kinds of birds, crocodiles, bats and the water buffalo. The owner showed us interesting places related to local culture and it was fascinating. The food and service were both exceptional. We did the safari tour and it was great but my favorite part of the trip was the Tissa tour by the hotel owner. Don’t miss it!

We absolutely loved our stay at Nehansa Resort! The staff went above and beyond from start to finish. We booked very last minute and the manager messaged straight away to organise pick up from the bus stop we were being dropped off at (this was free!). We were also helped when it came to figuring out how to get to our next spot - the manager dropped us off at the bus stop and also waited with us till the bus came to make sure we got on ok. We were greeted on arrival with fresh coconuts (very much needed after our 4hr bus journey from Galle) and were then taken on a mini safari around the nearby lake which again was included in the price. We booked our safari at Yala National Park through the hotel also - this trip was absolutely incredible! Our driver Amila did such an amazing job at spotting the different wildlife and we could not have asked for a better driver/guide. We enjoyed our stay and safari so much that we extended our stay and booked on the safari again for the following day (this ended up being even better than the first day with us spotting 3 different leopards). The room we stayed in was lovely and super clean. It also had A/C which was very much needed after the safari. We ate here every night and the food was great - the portions were big so we never went hungry! The breakfast that was included on the safari was also plentiful and tasty. Shout out to the 2 guys on the front desk (apologies as we didn't catch your names) - they were both fantastic and couldn't do enough for us. Nehansa Resort and Safari is hands down the best value for money hotel we've ever stayed in!
