The location is very close to the National Park. It is only about 8 minutes by Tuk-Tuk which they kindly organised for both our safaris. Leopard Inn arranged our tour of Wilpattu National Park at a reasonable price and our onward transport. Prathap could not have been more attentive even giving us cushions for our comfort on our safari. Everything was clean, comfortable and worked as it should. The accommodations that we chose were self contained cabins beside a river. Opposite there is some building work at the moment but it did not disturb our peace. We had a take away breakfast which was adequate. The pools are tiny plunge pools and very refreshing after a day's safari

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Taru Villas Villu Wilpattu, and I must say that the hospitality provided by the team was exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort, making us feel genuinely welcomed and cared for. Every detail was thoughtfully arranged to make our stay as relaxing and memorable as possible. The team’s attention to our needs, combined with their warm and friendly nature, truly made our time at Taru Villas unforgettable. The accommodation was not only beautiful and serene but also impeccably maintained, reflecting the high standards of Taru Villas. Great team - special thanks to Mr. Kuma and Mr. Kumara for making our stay unforgettable! We felt very comfortable and taken care of. Very kind and helpful Mr. Kuma told us about Wilpattu, took us on a trip to show us elephants, helped us organize really great safari in National Park and our trip back to Negombo. It was one of a kind experience :) In this place you can really relax, de-stress and be close to nature. I can highly recommend this place as a fantastic mix of great people and beautiful nature.

I stayed at this kite resort for two weeks and honestly, I didn’t want to leave. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed like family, and by the end of the trip, I truly felt like I’d been adopted into theirs. There’s a warm, down to earth atmosphere here that’s hard to find elsewhere, and it makes the experience so much more than just a kitesurfing holiday. The hotel has a cozy, family run vibe with amazing food and drinks. The kitchen is run by the Italian Roberto, who prepares a delicious mix of local and Italian dishes that make every meal something to look forward to. If you’re planning a stay, make sure you’re there on a Saturday. Pizza night is legendary. It’s not just a meal, it’s an event. The whole crew gathers, the wood fired oven gets going, and the laughs and pizzas don’t stop. On the beach, the team’s expertise is next level. They’re attentive, experienced, and genuinely passionate about helping you improve. Whether you’re just starting out or pushing into advanced tricks, they meet you where you are. Over my two week stay, they helped me elevate my kite skills more than I thought possible. Whether you’re coming solo, as a couple, or with friends, this place offers the perfect balance of progression, connection, and local charm. I’ll definitely be back.

We all really enjoyed our stay at Wild Wadi Wilpattu hotel. From the moment we arrived (really late in the evening) we were looked after extremely well by Manori and her team - they provided very tasty good value meals and organised a reasonably priced safari for us at short notice. The rooms are clean and spacious and the surroundings very nice. Our children enjoyed seeing the monkeys at breakfast and looking out for other wildlife. We were only sad we couldn't stay longer. Would definitely recommend - thank you for a lovely stay!

I had a wonderful stay with Riswan and his family. They truly care about offering the best possible experience to their guests and sharing the beauty of their region. They even managed to organize a last-minute safari for me at a very reasonable price, especially considering how well the day went (great driver, breakfast + lunch included) – $50 for a half day, $95 for a full day. As for the wildlife, I was lucky not only in the park but also around the village where the guesthouse is located. It’s not uncommon to see one or even several elephants passing by – though of course, that’s up to Mother Nature! Overall, a fantastic experience. A big thank you to Riswan and his brother for their kindness and for taking the time to help me plan my route. Good to know: there’s a local bus that runs from the village to Puttalam for 150 LKR, 1h, starting around 7 AM, with connections to many other destinations from there.

My bungalow was spotless and very comfortable. The aircon and WiFi were great. The food in the restaurant was really good and all cooked fresh to order. The hosts were also very friendly and helpful. Great place to stay in Kalpitiya!
