It felt like an oasis. The swimming pool was absolutely exceptional, with bedrooms overlooking the lake. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and there were a lot of very tasty food options. Would highly recommend!

I had a wonderful stay at this B&B! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful from the very beginning, making me feel right at home. The place was spotless, beautifully maintained, and very comfortable. Plus, the location couldn’t be better – just a short walk from the city center, perfect for exploring everything without needing transportation. Highly recommended!

Recently built and to a high standard. Our room was more than adequate and was spotless. The owner, Asanka, and his family are very welcoming and have a tuk tuk that is available for transport to the various sightseeing spots. The main street is an easy walk away for cafes and supplies. Breakfasts are delicious and are huge. Dinner is also available and should not be missed.

The hotel's staff, particularly Thakshila, were the epitome of hospitality. Her warm smile and professionalism were truly unbelievable. As a relatively new property, the hotel looks exactly like the photos - modern, clean, and well-maintained. Its convenient location provides easy access to the road and nearby attractions. What impressed me most, however, was the exceptional care shown to guests. The staff went above and beyond to ensure my comfort, even taking the initiative to clean my bike before I departed! If you're looking for a genuine Sri Lankan hospitality experience in Dambulla, look no further than the Golden Star Hotel. Quiet and convenient location. The food prepared by Nadeeka was amazing authentic Sri Lankan food using ocal ingredients. All requests were satisfied. Friendly family members and a surprise cultural performance by Nadeeka and Yatawatha's daughters Nishadi and Vishni! One of the most enjoyable homestay experiences I have had.

We chose not to climb Sigiriya (having just recovered from...

We chose not to climb Sigiriya (having just recovered from Adam's Peak!) but instead chose the much shorter Pidurangala which afforded a fabulous view of Sigiriya. Highly recommended. A visit to the Bawa hotel, Heritance Kandalama, is well worth it as an insight into the brilliant architectural mind of Geoffrey Bawa.

Dambulla is an excellent base for exploring Kandy, Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa and Sigiriya. We stayed there for 4 Nights and could cover the heritage sites easily. Dambulla Caves are a must-see and so is Sigiriya (just 16 Kms. away). Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa are around an hours drive but Dambulla is much well-connected and less touristy.

I loved everything they have amazing vibe, nothing was to much trouble . All staff kind and helpful. Dambulla is quiet but has local shops, cafes Pizza Hut, great small restaurant a few miles from Evergreen serving very good food. It's run by the people who run Evergreen. So recommended by me.. Anything you want to do or go and see will be arranged for you Tuk Tuk guy is a staff member . If you need car/driver it will be arranged.

The staff are extremely friendly and very accommodating. The breakfast was am amazing assortment of classical Sri Lankan food. The hotel had a comfortable bed , airconditioning and all the standard hotel amenities like a kettle, soap, tea and coffee. There is also a water dispenser downstairs to fill up water if you need. (no shampoo or conditioner) The pool is brand new and clean. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in dambulla

Athula the owner has the biggest smile in sri lanka. Extremely helpful and doesn't stop all day attending to every detail to make your stay more eventful than you had planned. The whole place is cleaned and refreshed every day, Sri lankan hospitality at its best .Great breakfast to start your day.Wished we were there longer.Dambulla is agreat little town. Ps nice touch with the toiletries supplied.

Well situated hotel (just off of Dambulla main street) with good access to transport, and plenty of close by restaurants. Really lovely room (exactly as the photos). Breakfast was amazing, plenty of really good food (paalappam, dosa, omelette, pancakes, toast, fruits). The owner's husband is a taxi driver so can take you to nearby Sigiriya/Pidurangala.
