Tanabe was our starting point for our Kumano Kodo trek so we stayed in Tanabe only one day not realizing how much there is to do in Tanabe. If we ever come to Tanabe again, we will be sure to stay longer to enjoy all that there is to do there. The owner is super nice and very knowledgeable about Tanabe, Shirahama and the surrounding area, and he was very hospitable! It's a beautiful home and very authentic - perfect if you want to stay in a retro Japanese house. As well, there were plenty of amenities to use and the house is close to Kii-Tanabe Station and Tokei Shrine.
