Takai the owner was sooooo helpful, it made all the difference to my stay in Matsumoto. I loved the book he made describing the different restaurants and what their specialities were. So much love and hard work have gone into making this place special. Takai was patient and answered all of my questions and went out of his way to help me. I am very grateful for his kindness and consideration. Lots of eating and drinking places are only a few minutes away as is the castle. It's also only about 15 minutes walk from the station so even with a suitcase I could walk here.

The offer of toiletries to take to the onsen, bikes to cycle round the city and free washing facilities made it such an easy place to stay without hidden extra costs. The kitchen was well kitted out. Staff and other travellers very friendly.

Near train station and walking distance to every spot. Staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel serves hot springs and free coffee in the morning, welcome drinks, and special food at night. Highly recommended.

Close to bus and train station. Very comfortable beds, discounted vending machines for a quick morning coffee. And we even got a free late small dinner for guests (I assume because it was a monday, with many restaurants nearby closed)

This place is situated very near the JR station, and I think they considered the feedback of previous travellers because there are ample signage to lead the way. The staff are exceptionally friendly and courteous, and there are a lot of amenities in the women’s only side (face serums, combs, razors etc). There is also a wide variety of free beverage packets in the main lounging area, and full collections of popular manga series (although in Japanese). Honestly I didn’t have anything I disliked about this hotel!

We had a spacious bedroom, with desks and a view to city street and to the mountains. From our room we could also see a Temari ball in the street, which was actually quite nice to look at having some tea while sitting at the room. Location is really great and staff was very kind.

After almost one month in Japan, this was the best accommodation. Onsen was just great and with hot sauna. Even the breakfast was probably best we had. Very close to a train station.
