Petra is always a magical place in your imagination.
Petra is always a magical place in your imagination. However it does not compare to the real thing! No matter how vivid your imagination! You need at least two whole days if not three to really enjoy the sights of Petra. We stayed a short distance away from the visitor center closer to the town centre where there are lovely restaurants and a more local vibe. Wadi Musa is a small village up 1km of Petra
Wadi Musa is a small village up 1km of Petra Many inhibitants consider foreigners just as walking wallet but it is possible to find honest shops and good restaurants at normal prices of you get right informations and visit places for locals. Nothing special, just a place to stay when visiting Petra where there is no local life at all only places for tourists. 2 days are enough is visit the wunderful site at walking distance from Wadi Musa. If you do not want to walk back up after visiting, it is better not to stay in Wadi Musa but in the more expensive, more convenient but also more artificial Petra outside the historical site.Guest review byPhilippeBelgium - 10.0

While the contemporary town is not much to write home about,...
While the contemporary town is not much to write home about, the gem that is Petra simply takes your breath away. The people were all very friendly (ok many of them were trying to sell you something, but they did it so nicely). When you think you've seen it all, a walk up to the Monastery or the High Altar although a little challenging is more than enough reward. Both are simply stunning. Go and see for yourself. The staff were helpful and welcoming all times. Breakfast had a good selection of local food with tea and coffee available. The free wifi was good and available throughout the hotel. Free parking was very close to the hotel. While the hotel was up a hill from the town, with a car and the free parking both near the hotel and near the entrance to Petra it made for easy visiting to Petra at much less than the hotels down the hill. Personel at the reception desk is very helpful, open to talk and share the rules in the hostel clearly. Rooms are not the biggest but clean, with comfortable beds and separate bathroom only for your room, which gives more privacy. This is a great place if you want to visit Petra as you can walk there in +/- 15 minutes down the road. And they offer the lunch box with good price, we bought the boxes to take to Petra, it saved our time.
