The boat service from Stresa is varied and frequent, enabling days of cruising to many parts of the lake. A beautiful, relaxed town on the banks of Lake Maggiore. A beautiful promenade along the shore leads into the town centre and lots of restaurants. Stresa was a brilliant place to stay without a car.
Stresa was a brilliant place to stay without a car. We found the s.a.f. shuttlebus from the airport very affordable and efficient and could walk to everywhere that Stresa had to offer or use the many different boat tours to access towns around the lake. The lake views are beautiful, the promenade is full of flowers and the lake is clear, cool and refreshing to swim in, with a number of different access points. Stresa is so beautiful with the wonderful views of Lake Maggiore. I went to Isobela Island as well as took the ferry which stops at several cities along the lake. The town itself is small but fun to walk around and certainly has a good restaurant scene. A relaxing and enjoyable place to go.Guest review byLindaUnited States

The room was very clean, the bathroom had all facilities, the bed was very comfy and the sheets so clean despite it is not a hotel. A typical Italian "locanda" with its local charm and a restaurant downstairs. The host was a very polite lady who spoke perfect English :). The location is quiet however there is easy access to boats which visit the Borromeo islands, and it is an easy walk into the centre of Stresa.
