PAntelleria is one of those places which you either like or dislike; its shortcomings and very unspoilt nature are its beauty; the people too are relaxed and have learnt to ,make the best of their harsh environment; we were amazed at how its natural beauties have not been commercialized yet and at the good quality of the food in the restaurants ; sometimes even surprised with some particular cuisine like sweet made from ricotta and capers which is one of their limited produceGuest review byAnthonyMalta - 10.0
The island is amazing and so unique.
The island is amazing and so unique. With a mask and a snorkel you can watch so many fish on the volcanic rock seabed, and feel the warmth of the hot springs in the sea. The food is wonderful, typically the island is based more on agriculture than fish, so you will see wineries, capers plantations, and areas where tomatoes, vegetables, figs, olives and all kinds of herbs are grown. Against his advice we decided not to rent a car and to walk to Scauri - this meant a lot of hills (there is a short hiking path close to the house which cuts across to a road - headtorch recommended) but it was manageable. We rented a scooter for one day and it was great to see the rest of the island. Beautiful place in a beautiful location!
