A Capital of Design and Style

Renowned as the world’s fashion and design capital, Milan is never short on places to see and things to experience. The stunning architecture of the Duomo di Milano and the famous La Scala theatre are just a few of the city’s breath-taking attractions. For a more intimate adventure, the Convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie with Leonardo da Vinci's “Last Supper” lets you view a masterpiece from Italy’s past.

Visit the FieraMilano and Salone del Mobile, among the world’s largest and most prestigious furniture and design fairs or have a stroll in the Quadrilatero Della Moda district to admire unique creations from the most famous Italian fashion brands: Gucci, Versace, Armani, Prada or Dolce & Gabbana.

The Navigli and Porta Romana districts are famed for restaurants and bars serving delicious Lombard cuisine and the very popular aperitivo. Make sure you try sweet delicacies at the chic Caffé Cova, founded in 1817, or another historical café, Zucca, in the Galleria.

Arriving at Malpensa or Linate Airports, you’re only a short trip from the city centre, where you can watch a game at the San Siro or enjoy Milan Fashion Week. Whether you’re staying in a chic apartment, design hotel or budget hostel, Booking.com has a perfect accommodation for your Milan holiday.

We stayed 4 nights in an Apartment - Apartment Isola, 3 Via Carmagnola. It was great. We did a day trip to Venice by Train and an organised tour to Lake Como. Milan easy to get around and walk to train station from this apartment. Our host was Antonio. Stay here if going to Milan.

Milan is an elegant city, wide boulevards, and tree lined avenues with a mix of old and new. Good food and superb shopping that can drain your credit cards quickly. An assortment of old and new architecture with dinning street cars and impressive buildings and the all too common abundance of churches. The Milan train station is an impressive site that isn't denominational as are many unique buildings in several different neighbourhoods.

Milan is a vibrant city that blends history, style, and modern energy with effortless charm. From stunning architecture like the Duomo and Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II to world-class fashion, elegant cafés, and lively neighborhoods, the city offers a rich cultural experience. Milan may be fast-paced, but it still invites you to slow down and enjoy an espresso, admire beautiful design, and take in the Italian way of life. A city full of sophistication and soul—definitely worth a visit.

Shopping, food, sightseeing, traditional Christian architecture and art beat the heart of Milan. Fashion and tradition in one place. Big "alive" city. Easy to move around on foot and public transport. Well adapted to visitors with all signs having English translations.

as a child I found Milan to be grey, dangerous, and dirty.

as a child I found Milan to be grey, dangerous, and dirty. as years past I thought the city cleaned up a bit. But this year I think there was more Graffiti than ever before. so sad to see. Make the city look like a dump
