Immediately the cleanliness and the welcome from the proprietor Eddie - he was available at all times, and most courteous, and his attitude of ownership was foremost. Our stay at Dal Professore was truly exceptional! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted with delicious Italian sweets – a perfect start to our vacation. The owner, Palma, was incredibly helpful throughout our stay. She recommended the best local gelato spot and even found additional attractions for our family to explore. The area was peaceful, with the beach visible right from the terrace, making it the perfect spot for relaxation. The house itself was spotless, spacious, and fully equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable family holiday. Our three kids had plenty of space to enjoy themselves, and the friendly neighbors added to the charm of the experience. We left with amazing memories and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay in Italy.

The people and staff could not have been any more lovely, they treated us like family, and took us for a drive up to the old village which has some of the most stunning views I have ever seen. The hosts actually live on site and they have animals including tortoises, a very tame rabbit which my daughter loved to hold and her favourite, Rex the beautiful German Shepherd, she loved it. The apartment is very clean and is cleaned every day, a amazing buffet style breakfast is served every morning, my 5yr old was being picky and they went out of their way to make bread in a teddy bear shape so she would eat, which she did, and even asked if I could make it at home! The location was absolutely beautiful, we had a sea view from our terrace and also a view of Mount Etna, we went at the start of May and there was only myself and my daughter on the beach everyday, so it was like having our own private beach which is a very short walk away at the end of the road. I could not recommend this place enough, we absolutely loved our stay and hope to return, my 5yr old daughter even cried when we left as she didn't want to leave.

    Melito di Porto Salvo was not one of the desired stops in our driving tour of beautiful Calabrian towns (I Borghi piu belli d'Italia) but rather simply an overnight stop between two clusters of those towns. It is not, in our view, an especially beautiful town. Similarly, we booked Villa Sul Mare simply as a serviceable en route accommodation and our expectation aligned with reality. It is serviceable but not, again in our view, a destination accommodation. It's a 7; does the job but best suited for a one-night stay.
