The main aim of the trip was to visit the battlefields of WWI in this zone. But, in a 50 km. radius, you have important art cities, Palladian villas, beautiful landscapes, plenty of trekking and bike circuits and you can even - we did not - push yourself to Venice for a quick glimpse of this pearl. We chose instead to explore the thick grid of routes that crisscross the mountains - built originally to serve the war effort - and landed in marvelous places, eat genuine food in the "malghe" (mountain farms), meet very interesting and sincere people along the road. They had toys, a huge garden to run and play and the animals were a hit with the kids. The rooms are spacious, well maintained and beautiful and Alessandra was always helpful, we had lovely conversations with her about the area and Italy in general.
