Hvolsvöllur is a small town (village?), but you can find restaurants, petrol station, supermarket here, therefore ideal base of excursions -for instance to the Golden Circle (North West) or Vik region (South West). Hvolsvöllur has plenty of good accommodation and a good grocery store. Very nice swimming pool as well. So its a good place for a base to travel from on day trips. The proximity to the ferry for the Westman Islands was the reason we chose this property - it was only 10mins drive from the ferry terminal. Additionally, the property is 1km from Seljalandfoss, meaning you can visit away from the busiest times of day. The cabins were literally on the ring road, making it easy to find but no need to worry about noise. Rooms are fantastic with great views of the horse stables and endless greenery. Very comfortable beds with down pillows/duvets in elegantly decorated rooms.
