As a ‘hostel’ this is the nicest I have ever experienced. It’s small and all the rooms are private with shared kitchen, bathrooms and sitting area so it’s really very close to being a hotel. The staff were so kind and helpful when we were stuck in town due to a blizzard and closed roads. I really cannot recommend this place enough!

The apartments were located close to Route One and enjoyed a magnificent view of the ocean. The apartments, against a backdrop of golden sun ray in the late afternoon, greeted us in a very pleasant way when we arrived. They were new and clean. The kitchens were well equipped. A special thanks went to the host who came to alert us of an approaching hurricane that basically closed most of the roads in northern and eastern Iceland for days. She managed to give us the heads up and advise us to closely monitor the weather forecast and road conditions before we checked out. Her advice was essential for keeping us safe as we then extended our stay at the next stop to take shelter from the strong wind and sleet.
