I come because of the Ashram so it is a big deal for me and my mum. It is a must see place. So many Restaurants to choose from. Favourite Veggie Indian was Icon Pondy dil se. Really good. Escape Inn for variety and views. Gelato on the promenade is a must. Pondy is easy to get around by Rickshaw and reasonable. There are also plenty of bars. Hook bar with sea views is brilliant. as are drinks and food. Villa Krish is another with great views. Try Asian House also for food and nightlife. Pondicherry is a nice size Indian City that you can stroll around safely at least during the day as we did. Good food, tuk-tuk transport was cheap. We found the locals friendly and help full.
