I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Mountain Retreat in Kodai, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable experiences I’ve ever had. The standout feature was the breathtaking view of Kodai Lake.The food was outstanding, with every meal tasting fresh and full of flavor. The property itself exuded peace and tranquility, and the staff went out of their way to make us feel at home. It was the ideal mix of comfort, stunning scenery, and warm hospitality. A very positive and warm welcome from the reception staff, and all staff in the hotel were very friendly and helpful. The meals in the downstairs restaurant, and the roof terrace evening restaurant, were all delicious. The location was good for visiting the lake and getting transport to the viewpoints and other tourist places to visit. The room, and the whole hotel were of a high standard.

Exceptional service, very near to all tourist spots. The staff is very friendly, they believe in customer first approach, arranged a vehicle for us on short notice in 15 mins, very efficient. The breakfast was extraordinary, served fresh and hot. Will definitely visit again

We are newly married couples who travelled from chennai and found this hotel, away from city traffic. It is a very peaceful place and there will be no disturbances since it's an open space. There were a couple of families who stayed here when we checked in. Room is near and clean. Friendly staff. Homely food and a good view from the terrace and campfire area. I booked for the view room.

Stayed in this property for 2 nights. Went almost 100s Hotels Across All countries for BT Purposes, but the stay here were so much comfortable. From the Front Office Staff, Watchman everyone were so Friendly I felt like Family. Highly Recommended for Everyone. So next time I’m planning to take my family here for sure.     Coaker's walk has awesome view, rose garden is very beautifully maintained. Vatakanal falls are a beautiful sight to our eyes. Kodaikanal is very peaceful and beautiful place to visit. Near Pillar rock we had green tea, it was so good Please try. I really liked the rose garden and Kodaikanal lake. We are in Pure veg Hiltop hotel, worth to eat.

    The main town and especially all the attractions were packed...

    The main town and especially all the attractions were packed with loud tourists even during the weekdays in April. I didn't end up enjoying any of the tourist attractions because of the unruly tourists! It's best to avoid the tourist spots if you are looking for some peace and quiet. I enjoyed my stay and food at a homestay/resort which was a bit away from the centre, so it was enjoyable there and also just the nature and villages around. Taxis to go around can be pricey if you are a solo traveller. Would recommend Astoria restaurant for local Indian meals, the cafe Ten Degrees for the vibes and the main course but the dessert there was awful and unnecessarily pricey !

    Few sight seeing points were worth watching.

    Few sight seeing points were worth watching. Two to three nights stay is enough to explore Kodaikanal. Our favorite spots were GUNA caves, Pillar Rocks, Kodaikanal Lake (because boating provides awesome views), Pine Forest, Mannavanur Lake, Rabbit & Sheep Farming, Moir Point. Local Cab driver whom we hired for a day for local sight seeing informed Bear Shola falls closed for tourists so we didn't visit the same but not sure whether the information was correct or not. As per our experience, please don't hire local taxi for sight seeing as they charge very high (Rs. 2,000/- per day) in the name of showing 12-13 sight seeing spots but at the end of the day will show actually only 6-7 (almost half against what was actually committed) so we were highly disappointed towards the local sight seeing experience through local cabs.

    Hill resort but during season it will be crowded. Many places to be seen. Only few pure vegetarian hotels are there. Delivery app works there so no issues for ordering food from the comfort of your room. Be ready and expect rain at any time. Night and early morning chill are for enjoyment. Choose a good place to stay

    upon booking into the hotel staff said that they haven't received the voucher from booking.com but we have confirmed the booking status so they just sent us to the rooms. Staff dealt with the problem very well. Also location of the property is very good as it is right beside many stores and in the middle of the city.
