Nice little town, lots of individual shops to meander around, interesting history, nice pubs, but only one that we could find, served food! We searched for ages, till we found somewhere to eat! We were disappointed at that to be honest. Also, OMG the one-way system is very hard to negotiate! We left our accommodation at 6.30am to drive to the ferry port at Rosslare and went around the system 3 times in the dark, before we managed to get onto the road we need! Wexford is a beautiful county with lots of indoor and outdoor activities to enjoy. Some lovely beaches and hidden private pockets, beautiful spot for forrest walks and a fair amount of horse riding facitlities. Lovely galleries and craft spots. Beautiful little fishing villages. Often find great live music and good food in the same facility. You should dig around and wander. It's one of those counties that will surprise you if you make an effort and do a little research. Hosts a lot of different fesitivals through the year including wirting, art, opera and strawberry festivals. There were lots of places to visit in the Wexford area. Johnstone Castle well worth a visit with very imformative and friendly guide. Hook Lighthouse also well worth a visit with an amazing, characterful guide. The Irish National Heritage Park a great place to learn about early Ireland and has picturesque lake and Our Lady Ireland very pretty with lovely church. Wexford town was lovely to stroll around, we dined in two lovely restaurants with top quality food and exceptional service. I found people genuinely friendly and helpful throughout and happy to engage and recommend where to go over the weekend. We hit upon some great live music with David Clarke and Charles Byrd in Maggie Mays definitely worth a mention, and managed a sea swim in beautiful curracloe to top it all off.Guest review byaineIreland - 10.0
Wexford town and county has so much to offer.
Wexford town and county has so much to offer. Please research places to visit while visiting Wexford. The town was a pleasure to walk through with an ary of shops and cafes. Must of the tourist sights are within a reasonable travelling distance of Wexford town. I would suggest before booking a hotel read reviews. Enjoy your trip to Wexford and all it offers. An interesting, welcoming town.
An interesting, welcoming town. Some fantastic beaches nearby. The Irish Heritage Museum is close to the Whitford House Hotel and well worth a visit - lots to see, allow plenty of time. Johnston Castle and Tintern Abbey are among the many fascinating places to visit.Guest review bySusan

Ideal location for wedding here. Room was spotless. Host was very welcoming. We stayed in the “amber” room which was styled to a fabulous finish. The host Pat dropped me back to the hotel the following morning to collect my car as it was raining out. Very nice thing to do.
