What an unexpected surprise.
What an unexpected surprise. Waterford packed a punch in terms of a lovely get away. Our favourite spots were around The Viking Triangle within the city and then Dunmore East for the sea, Mount Congreve- a gardener's delight, and Dungarvan, which is a charming harbour town. In terms of eating, I would highly recommend Mount Congreve for lunch and Bodega in Waterford City for dinner. We also checked out The Garden Mount Wolsley where you can delight in different plants and flowers from all over the world and have a fabulous lunch in their cafe. All in all, we were so impressed with Waterford. I would highly recommend staying in Granvilles Hotel too on Meagher Quay. There is so much to do and see in Waterford such as the...
There is so much to do and see in Waterford such as the coaster resorts of Dunmore and Tramore. The Copper coast is fascinating and easily reachable. The historical centre of the city is well worth a visit and various guided tours are available online and on site. Plenty of golf and fishing if thats your thing. The hotel was excellent. The staff were professional. Some of the wait staff seemed to be impatient and stressed. Not that friendly. Bar staff were very good, informative and friendly. We enjoyed a most interesting and entertaining walk around the main historical sights with Jack (2 walks daily) Other walks along the river waterfront - will be even more attractive when contruction work is completed - hopefully soon. A good range of shops around the busy and vibrant shopping and cultural area. An excellent and extensive Greenway for cyclists and walkers along the former railway coastal route. Before arrival, detailed information from the hotel about the car park and a special discount for hotel guests, wonderful carvery lunch, à la carte breakfast, very clean amd warm, brightly lit room (which I really like), very friendly and helpful staff, great location, on Saturday evening fantastic live music played by a vocal and guitar duo.
