We couldn't have imagined a more wonderful place to start...
We couldn't have imagined a more wonderful place to start our trip to Ireland at the foot of the Sleive League! The pub food was terrific and the friendly staff made us feel so welcome. Later in the evenings, musicians spontaneously arrived and started to play together on various instruments. It was better than we had even hoped it could be. The Rusty Mackrel is a very unique B&B and we loved our two day stay. We hope some day to come back again.Guest review byKenUnited States - 8.0
In a spectacular location in south Donegal.
In a spectacular location in south Donegal. There is an excellent pub, there are shops and other facilities a couple of miles away. Guests should be prepared for wet and windy weather (we were lucky). The main attraction ais Slieve League, The Rusty Mackeral serves good food etc. Other area of Donegal are easily reached ie. Best thing is trip up to Sliabh liag cliffs stunning views.
Best thing is trip up to Sliabh liag cliffs stunning views. Also beautiful beach nearby Silver Strand. Teelin does not have any shops except for a café/gift shop near the visitors Centre and extremely limited accommodation. You can do boat trip and cliffs in one day. Lovely wee place in the middle of nowhere, perfect for a tranquil get away. Be sure to climb Slieve League for some stunning views. Lovely waterfalls and beaches in the area but best to go by car.
