I stayed here on short notice for work and the hotel was amazing. I had no idea that the town even existed before booking, but the location was amazing. A lovely little town right on the River Barrow which includes a medieval castle and beautiful bridge. The hotel was very well managed with beautiful artwork and fresh flowers on display. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious. The restaurant has a great menu and the breakfast was cooked to order. Some of the nicest food I've had in a long time. I will 100% be back.

I was very impressed by the room, decor, cleanliness and comfort. I had the best nights sleep (with ear plugs as always) as the beds are really comfy! Ample parking which is very easy and it’s only 5mins drive into Carlow.

We had the most fun and amazing stay at Matty's Pub Apartments and would totally recommend staying there. You would never meet a more friendlier bunch of local folk or a more welcoming and laid back host. It was made quite clear from the start that meals were not part of the package but were available if required close by.Matty certainly made our time in Royaloak very special.

    Gorgeous hotel, room was spacious and clean. Bed was massive and super comfortable. Breakfast was lovely and included in the price which is rare these days! We also had a drink in the bar, it was a good atmosphere and they had live music. Staff were also nice and friendly. We would definitely return

    The reception and foya of the hotel was beautifully decorated with fresh flowers the bed linen was so fresh and comfortable the room were a good size as was the bathroom......the food in the restaurant was delicious and a good variety on the menu
