This lovely b&b place is run by a very friendly lady who gave us a warm welcome and always made sure we had an enjoyable stay. The place is very cozy, and our room was spacious, bright and clean, although the bathroom was quite small and offered only cold water. The breakfast (fruit salad, toast and cereal) was very tasty. Located at the end of the town, it took some time to walk to the train station but we hadn't too much luggage so it was alright. We would definitely stay here again!

The host is an absolute gentleman. They have put a lot of hard work into this fine buiilding to provide accommodation in the hearth of the town . They went out of their way to accommodate me, far beyond what I could have asked for. Snacks and drinks are freely available to take. The place is clean and modern and all that one needs. The extra mile the host went made all the difference, from helping me out with parking for a large van to booking a meal in a fantastic local restaurant a few doors up. He even made arrangements to purchase a chair that I spotted on my behalf from a local shop across the road because, due to other commitments, I was unable to be around during the shop opening times, it was waiting for me when I got back.. The town itself is a little gem, and everyone I met was hospitable and genuine. I thought we had lost that in Ireland but I've been proven wrong. Thank you for everything.

A hidden gem in Rosscommon...made special by the attentive staff...ive travelled far and wide and you wont meet nicer people than I did in this hotel!!! the one thing that stood out to me which is very important in these times of protecting our children was children was to be accompanied by adults in the lift!!! In time people will understand how important this is...Well done to the Abbey Hotel in Rosscommon for helping protect our children in Ireland

Attractive town but limited facilities - no obvious public toilets and many of the store's ones were 'out of order', where available good - necessary if you have children or are getting on a bit. Beautiful park, fun all day pub eatery with a train inside, There is also a train service but not many trains - station facilities only available when a train was due. Diet very rich in meat.

If you do not drive Castlerea is easily accessible by train but local transport is challenging. We recommend Keene taxis. Best restaurants….Hesters and the Old Stone House….the center of Castlerea is about an easy 15 minute walk….

Perfect location in the middle of the main high street opposite parking. The staff were extremely friendly, full Irish hospitality. The bar had locals, all welcoming and Irish breakfast to boot! The hotel has character and history, it has an old historic feel, and that is part of the charm.
