Our stay at Murphy’s Farmhouse Guesthouse was simply perfect. From the very first moment, we felt warmly welcomed and truly at home. The guesthouse has a genuinely family-like atmosphere, which makes it stand out in the best possible way. The breakfast was local, fresh, and plentiful – exactly what you hope for to start your day. There were several delicious options, all made with regional ingredients. We especially want to highlight the hosts, who went above and beyond to ensure that no wishes were left unfulfilled. Their dedication and kindness were remarkable, and it’s clear that guest satisfaction is their top priority. We are extremely satisfied with our stay and highly recommend Murphy’s Guesthouse to anyone looking to experience true Irish hospitality at its finest.

We originally chose The Anvil Bar B&B because it was conveniently located at the end of the Ring of Kerry. Our host, Liz, strongly advocated for us to drive the Dingle Peninsula on the next day. Because of her guidance and proud knowledge of her region, we changed our travel plans and didn't regret it - the Dingle Peninsula was a highlight of our trip! As such, The Anvil Bar B&B is located perfectly adjacent to the Ring of Kerry and the Dingle Peninsula. From the moment we arrived at The Anvil Bar, Liz made us feel special. It is clear that she and her team are very proud of their Bar and B&B, and are strong advocates for their part of Ireland. The room was spacious, quiet and well-maintained. The food in the bar was very good - consistent with the good reviews we had read online. Breakfast was also very good. We would stay here again.

Our stay was excellent, we liked everything and if ever traveling through Tralee, I would consider staying again! The hosts welcomed us with the tea and bisquits upon arrival, and provided with lots of recommendations for dinner in the city. We had a nice quiet room with the garden view and the windows could be fully opened to let the fresh air in. The breakfast was also excellent, cooked by your choice from the menu (I picked salmon and it was delicious). Overall, our stay was very comfortable and we liked everything!

The bedrooms were excellent. Spacy and spotless. However at about 6.30am there was a lot of noise from the users of the adjoining room's shower. We also heard the occupant/s the evening before. The noise of the water was entirely due the the bad insulation of the walls. I think it will be a major problem in the future.

I was happy with the accommodation and the local pub(s). However, please note that this is all in a small hamlet called Boolteens, which is about 3 miles from Castlemaine, so you don't need to visit the latter!

I noticed the host had dried out another family's coats for them (yes, it was raining!). She was very welcoming. The B & B was all you would hope for, and to top it, the restaurant/bar next door was great for food and relaxing in. (And, there's another bar over the road for Sky sports if you want to bet on a horse!) Castlemaine has a statue of The Wild Colonial Boy.

We visited Tralee a few times and we were delighted with the places we ate. We had a lovely meal in both La Scala and Yummy. We also went to Camp, Castlegregory and visited The Maharees. We found our way home through the Connor Pass. The views were breath taking.

This was a remarkable experience: everything you expect from a traditional family accomodation in Ireland. Delicious food and beers at the bar for a fair price, kind and open personnel, family atmosphere with friendly local guests, free parking, excellent traditional breakfast, clean and spacious rooms. This is a place where you have to go if you visit Ireland. The owner Liz is so kind and smiling, and explained us in detail all the places wirth visiting in the surroundings, like a professional guide. We will definitely come back!
