Very modern building, clean rooms, great amenities and well maintained. Big buffet breakfast in the morning with lots of options (Indo/Euro). Lovely and helpful staff, assisted us with rentals, activities bookings and tips of what to do. Would certainly recommend it!

The kitchen staff were instructed to prepare a breakfast specifically for me - this act of kindness, generosity and attention, I will never forget. I was able to enjoy a truly Yogi/Javanese/Indonesian taste. I am very grateful. Another thing for which I am grateful, is the fruit basket that was hand selected and decorated specially for me. One more thing for which I am grateful, is the exceptional collection of books on Indonesian art/architecture/culture in the library that the hotel management has made available for peruse.

Everything, the room was very clean and big. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is near the mall so we can just walk to the mall as well.. I’ll definitely stay at this hotel again if I visit Jogjakarta again.

My family and I stayed at this villa and enjoyed every moment. The private pool was clean and well-maintained, making it perfect for the kids to play and relax. The room was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable, the bed was soft, the air conditioning worked perfectly, and the interior design was elegant. What stood out the most was the friendliness of the staff. They were always helpful, warm, and made us feel right at home. Highly recommended for a relaxing family or couples' vacation!

A City Fit to Prosper

Yogyakarta represents the Javanese quintessence, the guardian of the island’s traditions, language, culture and arts. Capital of kingdoms and empires since the 8th century, ‘Yogya’ is today the capital of the namesake Sultanate and Special Region of Indonesia.

With ancient origins, the city was during centuries the capital of the Mataram Kingdom, but its power was weakened when the Dutch East India Company started to gain control over the small Javanese kingdoms during the 17th century. After World War II, the Indonesian independence was supported by the Sultan, allowing the monarchy to stay in power. The city became the country’s first capital from 1945 to 1949.

Its name was inspired by the Indian Ramayana epic, with ‘Yogya’ meaning 'suitable, fit’ and ‘karta’ meaning 'prosperous'. Must-see sites include the Kraton Yogyakarta Palace, the Taman Sari Castle, the Alun-Alun Sultan's ground, and the Masjid Gede Kauman Mosque. Jalan Malioboro street is one of the most popular shopping areas, and many hotels in Yogyakarta are located nearby.

Its proximity to the famous temples of Borobudur and Prambanan makes this town one of the country’s most popular destinations. Hotels, resorts and homestay accommodation are also available near those areas.

    Its an absolutely brilliant place to visit with some hidden...

    Its an absolutely brilliant place to visit with some hidden gems, Borobudur temple, prambanan temple, yogyakarta city, Jomblang caves. You can easily spend close to a week there and city has a great arts scene and lot of live performances in the evening. City crowds are absolutely lively and fun :). People are relaxed and evenings were a lot of fun. Ramayana Ballet is a must visit, its a 90 minute performance absolutely stunning. Water Castle of Yogyakarta is a small visit along the way but quite beautiful along with the royal palace. Malioboro square has lot of shopping options and food options are quite good as well. Visit the cafe next to Bank Indonesia, its a nice surprise.

    I spent 3 nights in Yogyakarta and I loved it.

    I spent 3 nights in Yogyakarta and I loved it. It’s a less touristy city, full of culture and history. The pace of life is slower compared to Bali, but still very enjoyable. Gojek and Grab also work well here. I highly recommend not missing Prambanan and Borobudur. Both are absolutely worth visiting, and if you have the time, it’s best to do them on separate days so you can take your time to explore and enjoy each site fully. Keep in mind that not everyone speaks English, so I often used a translator to communicate.

    Yogyakarta has become more Instagrammable due to the significant growth of tourist attractions. However, this increase in tourist attractions has led to more congested roads, despite the few policies in place, such as restricting vehicles in Malioboro at certain times and implementing one-way traffic. It's a beautiful city to visit with lots to offer when you have plenty of time to stay.

The hospitality at tourist attractions was outstanding — staff were not only friendly but genuinely enthusiastic, often helping us capture unforgettable family photos. We felt truly embraced by the kindness of the locals. The calm and serene natural surroundings added a peaceful touch to our journey, allowing us to unwind and enjoy every moment. Combined with delicious food and beautiful scenery, our trip to Yogyakarta was a heartfelt and memorable experience we’ll treasure as a family for years to come.

    It was raining heavily when I arrived.

    It was raining heavily when I arrived. It might be useful to pack a poncho as well as an umbrella. Borobudur takes at least an hour to travel to but is an amazing place to visit. The Kraken- Palace is an amazing place to explore the culture. The Gamelan orchestra was playing when I arrived and it was fabulous. It was interesting to see the displays of the wedding rituals, military, dining and kitchen areas. In the outer area I had a guided tour of batik arts and the leather shadow puppet production and enjoyed some Luwak coffee. The Water Palace is worth a look. It has been flooded and mostly destroyed but the basic structures remain. The nearby streets and alleyways are well worth exploring.

    The hotel is located in a quiet area of the city but still walking distance from main attractions (Kraton and Malioboro are 30min walk, ). The room was spacious and bed comfortable. Cleaning service was ok however some improvement is still possible. Breakfast was good and offered both sweet and savoury options. Both hotel and restaurant staff were nice and helpful. The restaurant though only offers pizza and lasagna but you will find beer as well. The hotel can help organise an appointment for a massage in your room

    The hotel's location makes it easy to get to the city's attractions on foot. Everyone at the hotel is very attentive, helpful and willing to help resolve any concerns. In fact, they welcomed us while waiting for our trip, even after we checked out. The facilities are beautiful, quiet and set to calming music. The room was very comfortable and clean. And the food was delicious. It was a wonderful experience! Definitely recommended!

    We had such a great stay during our 3 days in Yogyakarta ! Very comfortable rooms and also perfectly located at 1min walk from restaurants, bars…and close to city center. The staff is absolutely amazing, helped us to plan our excursions to Borobudur & Prambanan temples and then to Bromo & Ijen volcano. The couple holding the hotel is very nice, we learned a lot from them. Perfect place to stay in Yogya !
