Uluwatu is awesome but very busy now compared to other years. We loved the location of our villa, very central yet so quiet for how busy it is in Padang Padang. Easy to get around. Villa was beautiful we didn't want to leave! Could have done with a tv for quiet night in that's about it. The ladies at the office are lovely but quite pushy with payments when you book things and communication sometimes a bit mixed up. Such good vibes and so much to do. Amazing restaurants, cafes, and gyms, which all seemed to be owned and frequented by Australians. The vibes in the area was so cool and there are so many lovely beaches in the area. We have been to Bali many times and this was our first time in Uluwatu. We loved it because it was a much more layed back and sophisticated part of Bali without the hustle and bustle of Kuta or Seminyak. We loved the surf culture, healthy food available and the easy access to yoga and wellbeing services if you wanted to. Because our villa was a little away from the main part and we were only there for 4 nights we spent alot of time at Mana restaurant and pool just chilling because we loved the food and facilities. We ventured to Padang Padang beach for some sea water swimming and that was good to experience. Uluwatu is great to surf if you’re advanced or a proper intermediate (comfortable solo turning green wave, 5ft +), but it’s not for less advanced surfers or people learning to surf. If you’re Western and looking for home away from home, then Uluwatu is for you. It’s very touristy and instagrammy, lots of Aussies, South Koreans and Europeans. You can’t go to a beach without a photoshoot happening somewhere. You’ll still find some amazing scenery, incredible surfing and good food, but don’t expect to see any locals really living their lives there, it’s all about the tourists, and is a party area reallyGuest review byFelicity
