It's in an excellent location right on the river in the quiet spot of bukit lawang but still only a short walk from where all the action is and if you don't wish to walk there is a taxi service very close by which will get you into town. The rooms are very nice and the food choices are good and there is soft drinks and beers available for those that wish. Also the garden area is very beautiful with a lot of wildflowers and butterflies flying around so it's a pleasure even just to sit on your balcony and enjoy the view

the location is incredible - gorgeous walks and opportunities to spot monkeys, lizards, bright butterflies - overlooking the river and jungle and with a private waterfall on the land. the staff were incredible and went out their way to help us, and were there to answer any question. We came with two year old twins who can be a handful and they made us feel extremely welcome, and helped lug and entertain the boys on the trek into the jungle to see the orangutans (we saw 4!)

Fantastic hotel, very friendly and helpful hotel team, great location. Rooms are tastefully decorated, bed is convenient. We have arranged the jungle tour through the hotel and everything about it was amazing: tour guide and the team, fruit snacks and tasty lunch, opportunity to see orangutans in their natural habitat as close as couple of meters away, great and sometimes quite challenging jungle walk and the highlight of the trip - tubing on the river. Highly recommend Orangutan hotel to everyone traveling to Bukit Lawang!

The staff is very kind, they gave free food to us and items for our food. The bungalow is maybe basic, but that's exactly why everyone comes to Bukit Lawang, back to basic! The family bungalow gives you a lot of privacy and constantly seeing monkeys in the trees. On the first evening we spotted an urang utang walking next to our bungalow!

Best to train up and be fit for jungle trekking as some...

Best to train up and be fit for jungle trekking as some climbs can be a bit steep. Also it's very hot and humid. If you wanna take good pictures, don't rely on mobile phones as you'll need to zoom in quite a bit with orang utans perched high up among the trees
