Potos is a lively town with lots of bars, cafes and restaurants. The beach is large and had sun beds that are usually free with a purchase, and the hospitality staff were friendly and helpful. Potos is a great location and is in near reach to other places, usually around a 10/20 minute drive. It is close to Theologos, Giola and other nice beaches including Notos and Rosogremos (both beautiful beaches). Potos has a nice mixture of busy touristic party life and cosy family atmosphere - a bit of something for everyone. There are nice tavernas and restaurants, but also a good variety of bars to have a drink after long day at beach. There are plenty of grocery stores, if you want to cook for yourself. Potos itself was not very interesting to me, but it is a great place to explore the island from. There is a huge free parking on the entrance to the city which is a great benefit. It is a nice town with a lot of taverns to eat. I recommend the followings, in the order we enjoyed: Poseidon, Klimataria (here you have to wait a little bit more for food preparation, but the taste is awesome) and Irene Official. The Potos Beach is very nice with not very deep water at the shore, which recommend it for families with children. The prices for 2 sunbeds and one umbrella are between 10 EUR without consumption to a full consumption of 15 EUR or even 20 EUR in some places. There are a lot of small shops for souvenirs and also there are many small supermarkets and one big supermarket Masoutis. The road to Potos is amazing, the location is beautiful, the hosts are excellent, but the local authorities do not seem to care too much to preserve the traditional places or local architecture. The streets are destroyed and full of dust, many houses or buildings are in ruins. The beaches are small and crowded, too small for the number of tourists from the city. On the other hand, there are very good restaurants (Poseidon, Irene, etc), where the food is very fresh, big size, and the services pretty good. All in all is good. The accommodation opposite the center of Potos is 2 minutes away by car. The room I stayed in was extra spacious, with a bathroom, hot water at every moment of the day, a room with all the necessary equipment, air conditioning, flat screen TV, from the electric stove to small appliances. Bedding and towels were changed every 2-3 days. The owner Ms Mani is very kind and helpful. She waited us with own homemade cake and jam,tomatoes from the garden. House is very clean and nice, feel like home:) Equipped with everithing in the kitchen and barhroom. Parking in the yard.
