Great island. Beautiful and great for clubs and beach walking. However. Very expensive and the drivers charge either 40 or 50 euros even if you go 1 mile. Basically fixed fee. No other options. They will squeeze your budget there. Kind of an indirect tourist fee. But the people are very nice and all speak great English. But it’s a money pit. Mykonos City has lots of shops, bars, cafes and restaurants within a small area so it is easy to find everything you need without needing additional transport. We took a trip to Delos and there were other excursions/boat trips we could have gone on. We hired a quad bike and spent a couple of days visiting the beaches around the island but it was possible to get around by bus too. Cabs are pretty pricey compared to the UK. It was 40 euros to go 5 mins from the airport so best to book that from UK beforehand. We got an Uber on the way back which was a bit cheaper. Mykonos is more expensive than some of the other Greek Islands but there are many good, reasonably priced tavernas where you can buy souvlaki/gyros. We also ate at D’Angelos, Georgia’s Garden and Rustic Grill - 10-15 euros for a main course. A cappuccino is 3 or 4 euros and a local beer or glass wine is around 5 euros. It’s pretty hilly in Mykonos, so bear that in mind if mobility is an issue - you’d need to have accommodation in the centre if you want to avoid an uphill climb back to your hotel/room, etc.Guest review byClaire - 8.0

a gorgeous place to visit and Mykonos town is a great place to explore on foot. Great choice of food and places to eat. There are some lovely boutiques for shopping and the people are so welcoming. I had a great time in Mykonos.
I had a great time in Mykonos. This island has everything, history, entertainment, luxury, delicious food and really friendly people. I really enjoyed the amazing sunset in little Venice, the iconic windmills, swimming in Kalo Livadi beach which is by far the best beach of the island, windsurfing in Kalafatis beach, shopping downtown in little cute boutiques and trying the local cuisine with Greek specialities and lovely Italian restaurants. I made plenty of new friends and explored Delos and Rhinia islands which was a fascinating experience. I believe that Mykonos has it all, culture, nightlife, beach fun, food, love. I’ve been in 5 stars hotel with worse pool areas. The room is basic but so spacious. 10 min walk from the town but far enough from the crowd for a peaceful rest.
