I arrived before check in time, the place is really close to the station of the the daily public bus from chania. I did not tell my arrival time, but the staff helped me immediately to store my backpack, and I went straight to the Elafonissi beach. I could check in regularly at 14:00. Room is big enough, fully equipped, bathroom brand new, I would say. AC, fridge and coffee kit provided The veranda in front is great for chilling. Resto and mini market at a stone throw.

A very beautiful place, very quiet and easy with kids. The swimming pool is lovely, with a small pool for young kids and steps to enter, a lot of green around it and even toys for the children to play around the pool. Our room was next to the pool so it was very easy to come and go from the room to the pool, we could even park our car right next to it. Two different bedrooms so kids stayed upstairs, an extra bed was made so all 3 kids could be accomodated wich was very nice and comfortable. Lovely hostess, willing to answer any questions.

The location is perfect. Peaceful & quiet, with the gorgeous beach just across the street. The room is very comfortable and the host & house keeping lady are very sweet and friendly. Stayed here twice and would definitely stay here again!

The host is lovely.

The host is lovely. She speaks a little English but her warmth and hospitality bridge the gap. Accommodation is spotlessly clean and spacious. Beds comfortable. Recommend for those happy to stay a short drive from Paleochora wanting peace and quiet. This is a large growing area so you will be in and around grow sheds. Still This is a wonderful authentic place.

Kountoura Selino is more of an area towards the end of a seaside road at the Southwest part of the Crete islands. Driving out from the town of Palaochora, one finds along the seaside road a supermarket, camping ground, housings, some tavernas, beaches and beach bars along the road. Of the beaches, our favourite was Grameno beach, as it provided a facility with umbrellas at the wonderful sandy part, as well as a more beautiful wild naturist part settled among the dune and rocks. We saw wonderful sunsets there. A car is needed to get around the area. We were there in the first week of September, and it was rather quiet with few tourists, which we enjoyed.
