We had fantastic breakfast with a lot of fruit and different local specialities every day on the roof terrace. Our room was cleaned every day. The view is also fabulous, you are 10 steps from the sea. Bus stop is right at the hotel. You can get to Chania in 10-15 min by bus.

One of the best apartments I have ever been, well equipped kitchen, good washing machine and soup powder, chairs and table to sit outside, cleaning equipment, mosquito nets in the windows. Good parking with shadow. In a word anything you could need to spend a few days there. Thanks. We highly recommend the apartment.

I loved everything about this hotel. At first sight - we just thought that everything was beautiful and clean. But then we realized that this hotel really cares about their guests and the service is really out of this world. Chris, that was in the reception majority of the time that we stayed there, always aimed for us to have the best time even though it rained while we stayed in the hotel for a majority of our visit. She and her colleagues always greeted us with smiles, giving us tips about where to go and how to get to those places. I know that it doesn’t sound like it’s anything more than ”regular” service, but when you meet people that treat you so good as they treated us in a 5-star hotel (and mind you - that doesn’t happen often since we mainly stay at 5-star hotels) then you appreciate the whole trip in a complete other way. Also, me and my boyfriend have worked within hospitality and service during the majority of our careers and we know that good service takes energy and commitment. If the manager of this hotel sees this review - please tell everybody on your team how great they are! Because we will be back in the fall again (booked another visit day 2 of our stay). And (!) not to forget to mention the spa. I got a treatment from Maria Hanaroli down at the spa and it was amazing! If you stay at the hotel make sure to get a treatment with her to make your trip even more luxurious.

We were a group of 20 people and they served both breakfast and dinner and the food was excellent. The rooms were nice, comfortable and the staff was very, very nice. Also the location is very good because you just cross the street and you are in the city old town. I recommend the hotel and I will come back with next group for sure.

During our 3-day stay at Kydon Hotel, we found nothing to dislike. In fact, it was one of the best hotels we've ever stayed at in Crete. The location is excellent, with convenient parking facilities. The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly throughout our stay. Speaking of the staff, a special thank you goes to Kiki. She consistently went above and beyond our expectations. Her fantastic French and her invaluable advice on the best beaches to visit in Chania made our trip even more enjoyable. The breakfast was delicious, with a wide variety of options to choose from, and everything was always spotless. Overall, we had an amazing experience and highly recommend Kydon Hotel to anyone visiting Crete.

We have recently returned from an amazing week in Crete staying in Southern Paradise Villas. The villa is amazing. The bedrooms all have on suits and the beds are so comfortable. The villa is modern and fresh with everything you need and the outside pool area was amazing. Added bonus the weather was amazing. The local amenities and beach are very close too. Yes there were villas adjacent to our villa but everyone was quiet, respectful and discreet. And yes there are people living their lives around the location of the villa but that’s the charm This holiday delivered everything we were looking for in our time away. Sun sea, very lovely villa and pool and freedom to come and go as we please.The host Leo was lovely and takes great effort in maintaining his villas to a high standard. We will be returning.

Not a very busy place which was a plus.

Not a very busy place which was a plus. Lots of places with good food and small shops. Kalamaki Mare Cafe was a highlight regarding breakfast. Beach was good, even managed to get some free loungers. Couple big supermarkets about 1.5km away. Three bus services to Chania so getting around was never a problem. Right by the motorway entrance too.

It is not far away from Chania.

It is not far away from Chania. We prefer to have a short drive to the city, and stay in a bit more relaxing area like that. It is also more convenient for trips to the western part of Crete. There are definitely nicer beaches on Crete, but if you don't plan to spend much time there, it is probably a very good choice.

There's no need to go further because Kalamaki Beach is very beautiful. The water is clean, with small waves. The sunbeds and umbrellas are the cheapest around. Nearby, there's a taverna offering good food and drinks at reasonable prices. The staff is friendly.

Didn't realise it was a separate area, it is connected to Chania, something like suburbs. A lot of small hotels and apartments in the area, several restaurant. It was good that we rented a car so we could explore nearby beaches. There is public transport till around 23:00, but we didn't use it. Kalamaki is a quiet area, not much of a night life.

Kalamaki is on the outskirts of Chania with a lovely beach and all basic facilities that you need - a few restaurants, minimarkets, a few tourist shops, pharmacy etc. It’s location is excellent in my opinion as it’s a small quiet resort but from there it’s just a 20minute bus ride into the centre of Chania town itself where you have the old town, Venetian harbour, shops etc, and in the other direction you can take a different bus to the resorts of Ayia Marina, Platanias, Kolimbari etc.

The tranquility, the small scale of the Hotel with everything closeby; the breakfast by the pool, the relaxed athmosphere and the very friendly staff! Very good restaurant, nice bar by one of the two pools, beautiful gardens and a charming little private beach. We love it: We have been stares here four times and , like many other guests, We keep coming back!

The pool was nice plenty of sun beds to use. We got a big room with sea view back of the garden. Sandy was very kind and welcoming. I loved the cats outside I was feeding them daily and they vere very cute. If you like cats 🐈 get them some cheap cat food. The bus stop was closed, but the hotel is on a hill so not easy with heels to walk down.

Very nice hotel, 2 minutes walk from the beach, very nice room, spacious enough for a couple , clean, modern clean bathroom, big terrace. You also have acces to the nice hotel pool (cleaner every single morning). The breakfast is varried with fresh local products. We had a wonderful stay for our honeymoon , thank you team Elia Kalamaki !!!
