Fantastic modern apartment right next to the sea with great balcony views. A very warm welcome from the lovely hosts and the taverna downstairs has great food and drinks at good prices. There are sunbeds on the beach opposite making it the perfect place to spend a tranquil holiday and with easy parking and good roads it's also the ideal place to explore eastern Crete from. There is a well stocked mini market close by if you want to self cater or buy essentials. 100% recommend and will be going back!

Wonderfull stay in new reconstructed hotel. Supernice stuff. The breakfast also the dinner was fine and delicious. I liked the opportunity of blankets because we- the middle Europeans are used to it. Great pools, the parking at the hotel. Great to hear a Czech language at the reception desk...:-)

The apartment was very clean and comfy also because it was new and recently constructed and refurbished. The kitchen was a little bit small considering the space available but was good for a max of a 4 days stay. Nothing to complain and the the hosts were very hospitable even though we didn’t meet them.

It is a great experience to live in the authentic stone houses with a lot of attention and attention to detail surrounded by a beautiful garden. Ouzo and 🫒 Olive Oil are available from the very accommodating host family. Close to the sea, an excellent bakery with ice cream and coffee, village within walking distance.

Garden. Hands down. We were speachless when we walked the garden. Amazing work by the owners. So amazing garden architecture you might only find in Japan mountains. Also we loved the near beaches of Xerokampos area and the tasty food of the tavernas at Kato Zakros, And the shop at Zakros village is well supplied with local products. The bed in the studio fitted my body and we had a comfortable sleep.

Beautiful scenery, the house is right on rhe seaside. The garden is very neatly maintained, it was a joy just to be there. The seawater pool was also very clean, large enough for a refreshing swim. The host welcomed us, showed great hospitality. Our stay was better than we had expected.

We can only agree with all other positive reviews abut this property, and especially hospitality of the hosts. All comfort that you need when quiet not overcrowded beach and excellent tavernas are just few steps down the hill. Several good hikes around the corner. Most romantic bench in front of your door. Sunrise from the sea (if you wake up early enough). Grapes just freshly cut. Do you need anything else?

We loved the warm, friendly Greek welcome from Eleni. A true gem of a lady. I have been travelling to Crete twice a year for 10 years and explored all over the island. This is one of the most exceptional accommodations I have stayed in. The house, the attention to detail truly shows. You can tell that Eleni and her husband have put their heart and soul into creating these finely crafted traditional homes. This stay was towards the end of our travels and we are only sorry we didn’t book here for the whole 2 weeks.. we won’t make that same mistake again ;) if you want to get away from tourists, explore the very best beaches Crete has to offer, experience a little bit of heaven on earth and a warm traditional & tranquil Greek stay then you must visit xerokampos and Lithos houses :) can’t wait for next year ❤️

    I had not planned on staying in Goudhouros, but I'm glad I did. It seems like the entire town is on the beach - everything is beachfront. The winding road in and out of town (in both directions) is a lot of fun to drive.
