A pleasant city, everyone we met was friendly and helpful, small enough to be able to walk to all the amenities we needed. Loved the promenade (including the dance festival that was happening while we were there). Found an excellent bar (Kerouac) just round the corner, and minimarket opposite. The city is very charming, but unfortunately quite dirty. I wouldn’t recommend wearing white shoes, as they’ll quickly be covered in dust. It seems the municipality doesn’t put much effort into maintaining the cleanliness of the city. However, the people of Alexandroupoli are incredibly kind and welcoming. Some of the older residents may come across as a bit abrupt, but this is likely due to the language barrier rather than any ill intent. Apartment has good location, has dedicated parking place just on the spot. Clean, well-equipped, nicely decorated. The host was very helpful on the phone, recommending restaurants, bars, shops. Also, e-mail communication with the host was excellent, immediate answer to all my questions. Getting keys - very easy, perfect photo instructions from the host. If you want to have an experience next to the sea, under the light of a beautiful lighthouse, where there is no noise, where peace and tranquility blow over you like a wind, accompanied by delicious food, this is the ideal place. I think it is wrong to highlight or praise a place you have visited while evaluating a place or restaurant. People are misled by ready-made information and while there are queues in front of one place, another one is waiting for customers to come. Here, we need to look at the general picture; wherever you go, there should be a friendly and helpful approach, a mentality that prioritizes service rather than taking money, and an important goal such as satisfying the customer. This is something that dominates the entire city. Live your own experiences, not what is imposed on you. Everyone has different tastes and choices. The bathroom was a little small, and one of the previous comments said the bathroom was in excess water. Yes, it gets a little wet, but it's not too good because it's a curtain. And most homes and hotels in Greece don't already have a shower cabin, so it wasn't a problem for us. We stayed for 3 people and the sofa in the lounge was also quite comfortable.
